Odd comparison to a far larger site that allows naming and shaming and is a recognised media source.

Mumsnet allows swearing - PHers have the vocabulary to express what they want to say without a few words that some might deem offensive. It's not an issue!

Of course you censoring your own word doesn't contravene the rules.
Ok thumbup

If somebody is genuinely offended by a word not covered by the swear filter then we will remove it. I'm not surprised a post full of swear words was deleted, surely it would have been better to maybe censor them yourself so we knew what they were?
If I had censored them myself nobody would have known what they were. I listed them to point out that the swear filter didn’t work - and was not avoided - if somebody posted a word that wasn’t on the swear filter list. I won’t repost them but you might want to check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs and surprise yourself at those you a) didn’t know and b) are not caught by the filter. But if the filter is going to be maintained and updated then fair play to you.

If an image contains a swear word then it will be deleted when we become aware of it as should have been the case historically.
Excellent. It’s nice to know a consistent approach is forthcoming.

Regarding usernames we will look at these on a case by case basis.
OK. You could start by searching the member list for the term ‘st’ and you’ll find,
ststain
stsite
strow
stkicker
sthead
stlips
sthotfast

Odd. I was humming and hawing over the terms and didn't post for a day or two while I mulled it over, though I read as usual. The other day, without thinking, I hit reply, as one does, and no prompt.
I haven't (knowingly) accepted the terms but able to post.

Would that change if someone from Shorpe took offence and complained?
