I'm still not sure which part of the site is affected. Where is this happening?

For me it's in the "Flemke is this your McLaren" thread... the uploader is OK in this thread though.

I hover over the "upload an image" link and this is what appears bottom left of screen

when I click on it, instead of the usual pic upload box, all that happens is the "reply to topic" window centralises on the screen, nothing else occurs no matter how many time I click the "upload" link.

If I right click the "upload" link and select open in new tab then the new tab opens with another copy of the "reply to topic" window only, no photo uploader.

Does that help at all?

This isn't something I can replicate on any of our machines here - what browser and version are you using and are you running any ad block software, or popup blockers?

laptop is Using IE9 on Windows 7, desktop IE8 on Win 7
Both have no blockers or anything installed, only Trend AV, PH reacts the same no matter whether Trend switched on or off on both machines.

As a test I just installed Chrome onto my laptop, the uploader works perfectly.... seems to be an issue with long threads and older versions of IE...... next test is to start a new volume of the Flemke thread and see if that fixes the issue.

I'm on IE8; at work, I have just tried uploading a photo to this thread and it isn't working and I've just tried using Chrome and it isn't working.

Just testing from here...

Could you explain the steps that you are doing for it to break - and what is happening when it is not working to help us narrow this down further.

Literally I'm clicking on the "Upload an image (beta)" and nothing is coming up, usually a little box comes up asking me to search for a picture, it's not working on my iPad at home either.

Same for me.... as mentioned earlier, all that happens when I click the upload an image button is that the "quoted reply" box centralises on the screen, thats it.
If I right click and select "open in new tab" a new tab opens, but it just displays the "quoted reply" window again, no uploader.

Really struggling to recreate this - have tried several different setups of machines and it is all working.

Can someone post in the URL from the Reply to Topic page where you are having this issue and I will try to look at it that way.

I have a suspicion it is related to the topic or quote that you reply to, or an ad on the page that is blocking the popup - so need to find the right combination to recreate it to see and fix the issue.

You are correct. It happened again on this thread this morning:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

and I had to create the posting I wanted to make to the above thread by making it in another unrelated thread first. I then copy and pasted the post into the above thread and deleted it from the unrelated thread.

The unrelated thread was allowing picture uploads but the the "camera can capture" thread (above) wasn't.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you - getting us closer to a solution but still can't replicate this.

When you next see it can you copy the URL in the Quoted Reply box and paste it here so I can see the specific text that might be causing it to break thumbup
