Optimizely is an A/B testing tool - a brilliant bit of kit that PH now seem to be using (I noticed the hang as well yesterday as I am sad, and always like to see delays on my favourite websites) - this is THE way to actually improve the customer experience on a website as demonstrated by data.
Their support department is second to none and have helped us speed up all our AB tests - they have experts around the globe to ensure a quick reply no matter the time of day, so I am sure PH can point them towards the PH site.
No connection other than a very satisfied customer (and PH user - good to see the tool being used here).
They have done some very cool stuff eg http://blog.optimizely.com/2013/01/15/how-obamas-c...

What is 'AB', other than a blood group? How does something that slows the site down and waste my time make it better?
AB Testing is where you give different sets of users a different look and feel, so group A one look and group B another. This can be as simple as changing the colour of a button in the classifieds to see if green is clicked on (or noticed) more than red... all the way to changing major bits on the page like navigation or sidebars. To stop the flicker that can occur with these tools (they have to run after page load, and then change the elements they are testing) then we try to run the library as soon as possible to stop that - if it is slow then it will cause the page to wait.
We are working with them and another company to get a solution that doesn't cause the page to wait for it.
