Is anyone else experiencing an intermittent issue where you're being logged-out every time they navigate within the forums?

Basically, I go to the home page, click "My Stuff" and get asked to log in (I'm thinking "Strange; my browser usually remembers."), so I do, then click on a topic under "My Topics" and get asked to log-in again. Try it a few times and eventually I can see the thread.

I have my "posts per page" setting set to maximum and I'm trying to read through a long thread at the moment...it's impossible because it keeps logging me out when I load the next page, meaning that I end-up having to figure-out where I was as the posts per page are then back to minimum.

Yep, Experiencing it a lot lately.

It's just random logouts. Sometimes after posting a reply, sometimes when navigating to and from PH and sometimes when navigating between different subforums within PH.

All a bit weird.

Hmmm... interesting - this is not something we have noticed here at PH Towers.

What operating system and browser/device are you using?

Same here. Comes and goes, OK for a day or two, then back in anger for a day.

Hello. wavey

I'm using OS X Mavericks (10.9.4) with Safari 7.0.5.

...though I've had to type this post using Chrome (same OS) as everytime I click "Post Reply" or "Quote", I'm taken to the login screen using Safari at the moment. I have tried resetting Safari etc. - no joy.

Thanks for any help!

Just a quick update... I am still trying to source a version of Mavericks to test this with as work keep us on Mountain Lion - so will continue to try and investigate this.

A Friday update...

Still investigating why the cookie is bouncing for Macs.

...though can't replicate it on Win 7 using Chrome, so suggest clearing cookies for that to see if you can fix.

It amazes me the number of browsers out there...... I started my internet life with Netscape Navigator and IE1...... (oh and IE1 was a buggy POS and and I still don't like any versions since - just have to use them at work)

For the last 10 years I've been using firefox (at home and the latest IE at work) and I don't want to try anything else because I suck at learning new stuff - there is probably better out there but like I said I suck at learning new stuff!!!

How sites cope with the level of permutations now I have no idea at all - hats off to you techie guys

Hmmm...I cleared the pistonheads.com cookies (didn't want to clear them all for work reasons), still the same.

- Reset Safari (again)...still the same
- Rebooted the machine (closing Safari first)...still the same.
- Cleared the cookies again...working normally.

Just tried the full Safari reset and so far so good, it was fairly intermittent before though so time will tell. Now got to log onto everything again though, damn you first world problems!

OK all, I am now running a Mac with Safari on Maverick and will use this for a few days to see if I see the same thing - at the moment I am having no issues, so let's see how this runs over time.

Indeed. I had no issues for a while and have not made any changes to Safari. I can't try to diagnose it now because I need to leave the browser open for work (I'm signed in to PH on Chrome) but might get chance to have a look into it myself over the weekend. Last time it appeared to be related to the stored cookies for the forum.

ARRRRRGGGHHHH

Me too. Ironically I just navigated to this page whilst logged in but upon trying to post I was asked to log in again!!

Nearly every time I navigate around the forums I get this. Very, very annoying.

Edit to add: It was fine yesterday.
