Bearing in mind the plethora of subjects in the P&P, I was just wondering if their is any appetite on a Pistonheads for a Sub Section on clothing ?

We already have specific Sub Sections which cater for such various subjects as watches (a particular favourite of mine), films, computers, pets and such like and I would have thought that in view of the demographic which contributes towards PH, that a section devoted solely to such topics as suits, shoes, ties etc would be quite popular. Not to mention on a more commercial basis the advertising revenue from the likes of Prada, Armani and Paul Smith ?

Any thoughts at all ?

Well you've fallen at the first hurdle my friend. Suggesting such gauche brands as you have puts you firmly in the white s-line audi on PCP crowd. wink

Should be in website feedback no?

Where sadly it will never be seen. Never mind, guess I'll never get the opportunity to show off my huge collection of flared jeans from the 70s.

I'd enjoy it though the advertising may come more from the like of Matalan, George at ASDA and The Officers Club if the Pistonheaders I've seen are anything to go by.

I'd enjoy it too, would certainly be nice to read discussions on clothing etc without the usual morons coming up with the "ghey' quips etc

Mods, any chance of putting this back on GG so as to access a bigger audience ? You never know, might get a positive response and an additional income stream.

I have not looked recently to see if this is the case or not, but a usual policy of creating a new forum is because there is enough chat on that subject in a forum it is worth splitting out.

Is there lots of talk already about clothes on the site?

Well, at the moment theirs a thread which is running to 1600 posts in The Lounge just on the subject of shoes and their are numerous entries relating to wedding suits, office wear, what to wear at interview etc etc.

Would have also thought that in view of high value cars, watches and computer equipment that the numerous contributors to PH would also have more than a passing interest in potentially other high value items such as hand made suits and the like. As I said, merely a suggestion.

The demand for a separate forum probably hasn't changed since the last time te question was asked.

I don't use terms like that, but the objective viewer would certainly class most of the awful shoes and clothes discussed in the lounge as camp, to put it mildly. Even the suggestion of the forum name as 'sartorial elegance' is ridiculous.

I wouldn't be so harsh on Paul Smith. His shirts are cut very nicely, and he makes nice stripey socks.
Nothing too bad can happen to you if you're wearing stripey socks.
