So, now when we look at a car, the ad shrinks and we have an annoying ad either side of the ads that jumps about when you scroll down the ad. Also the text becomes smaller and more difficult to read on an I-Pad. Why?
I am going to go to our ads team and hit them with a large hammer in a second. We should not be serving rich media ads (be that drop downs, things at the side etc) on an iPad across the site, let me know of the offending adverts and I will get them nuked!
I am getting really fed up with all these ads appearing down the sides.
The formatting jumps around as they load up on the iPad. So you click a link just as the page moves and end up clicking the wrong thing.
I understand the importance of selling banner ads. But as we are petrolheads why on earth would we be interested in a Kia for instance!

Yep, I used to access the ads very frequently. Just now I thought I'd have a quick browse and see if anything interesting was available and thought, "can I actually be arsed now", and that was all down to these bloody ads.
Coulnd't agree more. Had it now, with all the Ads generally all over PH on desktop & tablet, even Ads in the middle of posts on the forum (such as above!). I'm sure we were never going to get free good stuff forever, but is it a change of Management/strategy that's brought this BS Ad overload, especially the non-motoring tacky TOWIE inspired sites? If so it's short-sighted as the reason for the PH hit-rate successes were down to it not having been run by cynics as a cash-cow previously!Always praised PH for the Classifieds section before, especially before the scammers found it which seems to have happened now, inevitably I guess and not PH fault on that one (although please don't do an 'Autotrader' and seem to embrace the scammers by taking their Ad fees, then say its alright coz when the Ad is reported they remove it (I guess stopping them at source would hit their revenues so no incentive to sort it??!). We know you need the Ad revenue to survive but must be a happier, less disruptive means to that end? Thanks.
Yep this happens to me as well. Takes an age for a classified browsing page to properly load up and as it does the pages jumps all over the place. Usually if you try to click a link it jumps just as you click and loads the wrong page. It must happen to everyone on the ipad but people are fed up of complaining about it. Takes an age for it to load properly and stop jumping around.
As such I have stopped using PH to browse classifieds and I am just about to put my car up for sale but won't be using PH to do it as it's just too annoying.
Irony is that in an attempt to bring in revenue from advertising you are losing revenue in people advertising their cars. Soon the classifieds with be too thin on the ground for people to even bother advertising their car and the companies paying to advertise won't bother any more and that will be the beginning of the end. Sad really.
