My system is slow enough without these distracting adds that move with my scrolling.

I use firefox I installed add block ages ago with sucsess but these new side adds seem to get through.

Same question here I think.
How do I get rid of the fking Nissan advert that makes browsing the classifieds an even more painful experience

Two slightly different questions I think....

I guess the first is talking about the more news (or other news) stories on the right hand side. This is run by a company called Taboola, and isn't removable - but will take note of your performance issue and monitor this.

The Nissan advert is in the classifieds - can you let me know if it is causing a performance issue, a usability issue or just plain annoying issue?

The 'big' adverts (it was VW this morning) always make scrolling down jerky and slow. I also get regular internet explorer has stopped working messages. Happens on work and home laptops both run IE8 but not on iPhone.

Thanks for taking the feedback thumbup

Happens to me on my I-Pad. Hugely annoying! I appreciate that adverts pay for the site being here, but can we have the option to remove them? I'm migrating across to Autotrader, God forbid!

MrB... unfortunately I am having to take these issues one ad at a time, as any rich media (massive banner ads that drop down, or ones down the sides) should not serve on iPad - so if you spot one being a pain, let me know who the ad is for and I will have words on your behalf.

Very kind of you. I predominantely see Nissan and VW being the big culprits (there's nothing like taking on the might of a global mega-corporation ona Thursday, eh?)

An update...

I am working with the Ads team to get a list of display ads they are targeting to the site and what should and shouldn't be there - hopefully they will get this list to me soon and I can then start working with the targeting team to make sure they are pushing these to the correct places and the correct number of times to individuals (we obviously don't want to bombard regulars with lots of these types of ads just because they use the site more, which will annoy them).

I fking hate with a vengeance that header advert that forces my page up, then down, when trying to view something of interest in the classifieds, it also forces me to click something I don't want, or opens other page up because I accidentally click it when the fking page is going up and down like a bd yo yo.
So frustrating!!!
