Pretty sure it's some crazy external script you're running, but click on just about any forum section (or sub section) and momentarily you see it, then it will display a blank screen (it's not a crash -- other open tabs and the browser itself are not affected).

Happens without fail in Iceweasel and Chromium. I've yet to see it on any other site.

This message is bought to you in Konqueror, but it's not my browser of choice, by a long way.

Phew, not just me either then.
happens on both my samsung mobiles but not mrs spitfire's samsung for some reason.

For me all other areas of the site seem to work fine (home page, classifieds ..) but the forums are affected.
Pages start to load and show text but as the page finishes loading the screen just goes blank.

Could it be misbehaving adverts? Do any of you use an ad or flash blocker?

Could be .. i use adblock on my laptop but have never got it to work on my mobiles so there's no blocking on those.

Adblock for android works up until kitkat, but you need the latest dev build to run on lollipop.
Either way, there's an option to allow 'acceptable' ads so you don't block all revenue.

ETA: FTR, If not already done so, sites can apply for exceptions here: click.

yep one phone says "waiting for data connection" constantly and the other phone always says "download failed"

No idea what skin .. default?
it's the same blank screen whether it's the mobile site or full site though if that helps

Not on Chromium. My guess, though, is that it is bad code on one of the ads. As it doesn't happen regularly on other (ahem) ad rich sites, it's likely to be a pretty rare one.

Been getting this for a few days.
Pretty much every thread I go into on a mobile device, seems to load OK initially for a second or two...and then a blank screen.

Tried to reply to this thread but this problem stopped me from doing so. (had to come to a PC to do this)

This possibly/probably?

C'mon PH - sort it out.

The trick, surely, would be to run the code through a reference browser. If you find code that isn't to standard, re-write it (or return to the advertiser, get them to re-write it).

Glad it wasn't just me... Thought my mobile was on the blink.

As above, you see the thread for a second or two then get a grey screen. I tried getting round it by going to the full site on mobile (instead of the mobile site) but it does it on that as well... frown

Happening on my old Android mobile too. So far only way around for me is to 'Stop' the page before it has fully loaded. A ballache, obviously.

I created a topic last week but no one replied frown

Here's what I said:

I only browse the forums on an iPad. The last couple of days when going into various forum posts the page starts to load and as the advert loads it crashes the page I get an apple error message then it reloads.

I can only assume it's one of the adverts that is trying to open up as the forums are generally fine and have been perfect up until recently. Unfortunately I can't tell you what add is doing it as its crashing.

Anyone else experiencing this?
