Thought it may be valuable to share this with the Pistonheads community as what follows in undoubtedly a scam.

I'm selling my pride and joy in the Classifieds at the moment and received this rather cryptic email through the forum today:

"From: dllust90+abbie83@gmail.com
Subject: Ford Focus ST225, ST-2, 5 door in Moondust Silver
Advert ID: 3012756 | Dealer Ref: | VRM: YP56WXV
Hi,
Is this your car?
Link: tny.de/ww-piston-heads-com-clasifieds-used-cars-ford-autos-series-----3102405
(if the link does not work copy and paste it into a new tab)
I am very interested in purchasing but first i want to make sure.
Thanks"

Note the misspelling of "clasifieds" in the TinyURL... clap

Now clearly I'm not about to click on any link emailed to me, nor am I about to cut and paste any url into my browser bar. My guess is that doing so would take me to a fake Pistonheads website where I'm asked to put in my login details...

Apologies if this is a well known scam, but I'd rather that the folks on here got hear about this sort of thing twice as opposed to not at all. thumbup

Cheers

Whilst a lot of us would pick up on that, there are also many who would not. It is a very cute* little thing to do, thank you for posting.
