New desktop - too much white space

The comments on articles are awful - hard to track the replies as no definition. I just go straight to the forum link and ignore the new comments section completely. Makes it pointless. Simple layouts are better for web reading

I really do love PH, have done for many years, but the new look front page is awful (using my own eyes, firefox, mac 17" laptop). I'm afraid it really is a step backwards, and the god awful massive ads hanging around the sides and top and jogging the text around the screen as they load just make it more or less unuseable. I'm visiting the site less, and using links straight into the forum rather than coming via the home page now.

Would love to see it sorted out, but I imagine this is driven by ad revenue and so unlikely to happen. Do what you can!

Oh, and the random ancient threads / stories that get bumped by the new layout is very odd

Hi PH People.
Your survey about the home page.
When I complete it on my iPad it just abandons me on a page that I can neither back out of nor does it give me a 'return' option.
So I've had to log back in afterwards.
This happened three times so the survey is not finding duplicates.

In summary.
The new home page is crap, as in it is an advert.
The survey is crap as in it penalises users giving feedback.
