"Return to top" button, why no "go to bottom" one?

Exactly as the title really.

When I'm surfing PH forums on my phone and I get to the bottom of a page, there's a button that will return me straight to the top, but to get to the bottom to read the latest posts in the first place I have to spend half an hour scrolling down to it?

Or am I missing something?

Are you using the mobile skin on our site, or the same view you get on desktop?

If so, you can click on the arrow next to a forum topic that will take you to the latest post, and thus avoiding the scrolling.

If you are interested also, we are trialling a new mobile skin (called Beta2) that is an improvement of the current mobile, and that will shortly have the ability to automatically put you in the correct place in a thread.

It looks the same as the desktop version. How would I tell the difference?

Also, just clicked on the arrow next to the topic and it takes me to the last page, not the last post.

If you want the latest post to appear at the top just change the ascending/descending in your preferences?

This - works fine on the iPad, doesn't work on the iPhone when on the mobile site. Minor niggle, but bugs me when reading on the train...

It is designed so it looks the same on desktop, but if you go to www on a phone you get a phone optimised view.

That arrow only takes me to the last page though, not the last post.

On my iPhone it takes me to the last page, but doesn't position to the first new post on that page.

Checked and double-checked this. That arrow only takes me to the top of the last page, not the latest post.

FYI my preferences are set so the latest post appears at the bottom of the page.

We are trying to build a new way of going to latest post - so still working on making the system better. Timescale is around 3 weeks before we have this sorted.

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure if anything was going on or it was just user incompetence.
