Stickies in GG

Getting a bit numerous now, nearly half the page! I know some are site sponsor links but can some be rationalised?

We have had a look at them and some were removed. The flip side to this is that as we get more commercial partners their threads will be stickied too and marked as sponsored threads as it's important that people know a thread is sponsored.

Just came to post the same thing, 50% of the front page being stickies is making it less than useful, page 1 is now almost superfluous.

Also just noticed this - I know you can change formatting etc but that many stickies is plain silly.

I know you need commercial partners & advertising revenue and so forth but is the amount of negative feedback your getting with regard to the method of commercialization telling you all something?

The adverts that fill whole pages, and the first page of one of your largest forums being effectivly adverts does not contribute to a good user experience
