Can't navigate PH on laptop

Since yesterday evening every time I try to open PH (homepage or forums) on my laptop, the initial page appears and then everything freezes when I click on any subsequent link. In fact I even had to forcibly shutdown and restart my computer after the most recent attempt. I have no other internet issues and my mobile phone and iPad access to PH is fine (as this post proves).

Any suggestions? Can access to PH somehow be remotely blocked?

Hmmmm, not something I've experienced before. Is the laptop lurghi free? Have you run MalwareBytes recently?

Just downloaded Google Chrome and accessed PH OK via that rather than Internet Explorer. However I haven't logged in to PH yet. I'll try that now and see if it works. This message is posted from my iPad.

Hooray! I now have access to PH via Google Chrome. This message is being sent from my laptop.

So does anyone have any idea why it's suddenly stopped working for me on Internet Explorer (every other website still seems OK on IE)?

I seem to recall someone else having issues with IE recently. I'll ask someone with tech knowledge to comment.

I had that with IE today, so I stopped using IE

OK thanks. My phone & iPad are on Safari and that browser works fine too. So it looks like some sort of issue connected to IE.

I can't replicate this... is there any particular page that causes an issue or just the whole site? What is the first page you go to for PistonHeads that freezes?

It's still happening on IE. Every Pistonheads page I choose to start with is affected: that first page appears OK, but then it freezes as soon as I attempt to navigate to any other PH page and can only then close the first page using control alt delete and the task manager.

Every other site on IE is working fine.

Ditch IE and use Chrome. Problem solved.
