I know, I know. Advertising is part of your business model and the alternative is subscription etc etc.

But seriously, the home page is now starting to look like one of those "Top 10 Celebs who didn't age well" list web sites where there is 10% content and 90% ad space. The We Buy Any Car ad is very intrusive. It looks like I'm on their site, not yours.

I don't know if you have the technology to see what percentage of your visitors view the home page with Firefox/ad-blocker etc, but I can see it going up.

Interestingly I was just having that conversation with colleagues. Google reported recently that 18% of users are using an ad-blocker.

Is that presumably just for Chrome users, rather than IE and Firefox?

Must admit I'm finding the graphics heavy and generic ads a bit annoying since the last refresh

I think it was based on those users hitting Google.com, so not just browser specific.
