It most certainly is.
In the sense the OP meant (namely: I should be allowed to post anything I like), no it isn't. It's a privately-owned forum with public visibility.
That anyone can access, join and post.

You posted a thread that has nothing whatsoever to do with TVRs in the "General TVR stuff and gossip" forum. Somebody reported it as off-topic (me, as it happens), and it has quite rightly been moved to Website Feedback.

Unfortunately PH doesn't have a Whinging And Dummy-Spitting forum, which would be its ideal home.

If the private company chooses to allow them to. It's not a public free-for-all, as the OP appears to believe.

Exactly. It's the very definition of a public forum.

PH is somewhat like Tesco's car park. By default it is made available to anyone, but that doesn't make it 'public' in the same way that the M25 is public. Tesco could quite legitimately choose to exclude anyone for any reason it chooses (with only a small number of exceptions relating to equality law). Likewise, the owners of PH can choose when to exclude someone, or to exclude any of the content they try to post. The OP seems to think that the default open-door policy means he can post anything he likes, but he is mistaken.

The M25 is only open to certain members of the public and the right to use it can be withdrawn.

Well maybe it's time they did!
Then those that fear freedom of speech may say as they feel!
This site is becoming a dictatorship and you sir are leading the way!

Had the OP asked for a TVR related vehicle coming up for sale as we all see on a regular basis, would this have evoked the same responses and ridiculous retorts ?????

I don't know why you're finding this so hard to grasp.

Access to the M25 cannot be withdrawn for any arbitrary reason, but access to Tesco car park or to this forum can be withdrawn for any reason of the owner's choosing, no matter how capricious (subject to the limited exception already noted).

Why not open a link such as trip advisor where we the public can leave feed back without fear of a mod removing it?
You may not agree with my post but it appears I'm not the only disgruntled member, why not let us have our say? Surely you're not afraid ??

You really think TripAdvisor is unmoderated?

The door's over there ->

Unless there's a gun at your head forcing you to post here without abiding by the rules, feel free to use it.

Just because it's moderated doesn't mean it's not a public forum.

All forums are moderated to some extent (even supposedly un-moderated ones) and they're usually privately owned too, so PH is pretty normal in that respect.

Thank you Sheel, my point exactly. As a TVR owner for the past 20 years I considered it my right to post in my home forum.

What rule did I break? The mods seem to have different rules on different forums.
It's funny how none of you appear on a regular basis .... Have I hit the mod alert button ?

The OP asked a simplistic question, only to be hammered by some self policing individual from the Chimera pages who as I stated before would have witnessed regular "wanted" adverts
PH can produce some very informative info to which we all benefit, yes, occasionally it can go a bit off the mark but it is generally self regulated to bring back order.
Does it really need people to report an possible infringement?
