In fairness I don't believe he had it removed from the Audi forum.
Speaking of Audi ..... Oh know, that's how we ended up here :-)

I didn't "dob the OP in", if that's what people are suggesting. I never even saw the thread that got removed.

I asked the moderators to move his subsequent thread (this one) moaning about the removal, because it was cluttering up a forum for which it was irrelevant. The mods have done that. If anything I did the OP a favour because it's now in a much more relevant place.

I suggest the OP needs to learn a sense of proportion. This is just the internet. It really doesn't matter that much if you had a thread removed. It certainly isn't worth starting a whole new thread to whinge about it - particularly not if you post it in a forum that has nothing to do with it. Move on with your life.

Why do you want an R8 anyway?

Lost track but I note that a few people reference that this is not a public forum.

In it's very essence though that is exactly what PH is, albeit owned and run by Haymarket. Ask yourselves, what would PH be without the public users?

In this case no one, I spotted a couple on Vehicle wanted threads during a scan of the forums and removed both. smile

This is a fantastic, and, free site! I appreciate almost every day!

So what if a relatively minor thread got removed?

In isolation, no effect. It is the seemingly random application of the rules by anonymous people who hide behind moderator/poster walls. Fine, but not a ethical way to treat your business assets - which posters are. They click the ads and raise revenue.

We can take it or leave it, easy. From my point of view a disturbing number of the wittier, more informed and incisive members have left it.

You and I both.
i posted in good faith, as I've said earlier I would like to buy from a like minded enthusiast, where better to find one?

As it's been said by Big Al himself, his decision was based on an un written rule, to my mind I hadn't broken any rules, as it's also been said and as my screen shots show these forums are full of "wanted" posts.

All I ask is that the mods apply common sense when reviewing posts, I doubt they took the time to read mine and just deleted it after reviewing the title, if it had been read the mod in question would have seen that people had the courtesy to reply, no complaints had been raised.

If any member raises a vehicle wanted thread, it will be removed by routine, nothing against you or the forum you post in it's the type of thread.

And for your information I did read it and that's why it was removed.

And the merry go round keeps spinning.

Big Al I bow to your decision but the inconsistency is a joke.

Now, if the mods are looking for places to moderate, might I respectfully ask that they look at some of the stupid / inconsiderate /off topic and childish replies made to topics where someone is looking for advice ad before long someone posts what they presumably think is funny ,but totally OT and demeaning to those who have tried to give a helpful answer. Some folks give up on the post, others suggest that the inflammatory poster ( as that's what they are)is out order, and risk some form of censure. I now take the stance of using the report button. Sorry ,mods, but if this lot can't self regulate, and since mods can't be everywhere at once, I will report, till this lot get the message.

No forum is perfect, PH's is one of the most popular for good reason.
Cannot please all the people all the time, the Mods ( all volunteers AFAIK) do a sterling job., and always respond to complaints.

Not a joke, sorry. smile

So, have you placed a 'wanted' ad in the classifieds yet?

That's what the section is there for, and is the way to buy from enthusiasts who visit PH.

Not to date,
I do use and indeed currently have a car for sale in the classifieds.
The objective of my post was to offer someone an easy painless sale, from my experience many owners choose the route of Px as they don't want the hassle of a private sale.
My aim was to appeal to one such seller.

And therein lies your answer.

Bored of this subject now, especially as you now have the answer.
