Same again:

Login Screen
Sign In

Enter - ID
Enter - Password
Tick - Remember Me
Click - Sign In

Nothing - not a sausage

Click - Forgotten Your Password?
Write email address (although with no prompt you have to know this is what is required)

Go to email, click long pathname

Reset Password

Click Login and it goes straight in without repeating ID and Password.

Just for fun I logged out immediately to see if it remembered. No, it didn't. I had to do it all again.

For those that still have a problem after that - please let us know the device and browser you are using and we will look into it.
Windows 8.1 64 bit + IE11 and Firefox 38
Windows 7 32 bit + IE11 and Firefox 38

None of these remember a login if the browser is closed and then re-opened, or if I leave the browser open and move to a different web site and then back to PH again.

For all those that are still having to click "Login" without actually entering any details and just being auto logged in. Please click the logout button and then log back in again entering your username/email and password, remembering to click the Remember Me option.

This should reset the timeout of cookies.

For those that still have a problem after that - please let us know the device and browser you are using and we will look into it.
Nope.

iPad with iOS8.3.

I hit log out, closed the session, and the browser, reopened, logged back in, hit remember me and then tested it by closing the session.

Didn't remember me.

Hit my stuff, yep logged me back in without anything being typed in.

As above, I can explicitly logout, go to home page and login with 'remember me' ticked, then go into the forums and I'm showing as logged in.
Close browser, open forums again and I'm not logged in until I click 'login' at the top right.

Behaves exactly the same way in Firefox 38.0.1 and Chrome 43.0.2357.65 m on Windows 8.1

Strange that it does it with both browsers. Firefox on Android now remembers that I'm logged in so that's good.

Thank you for both of those reports - we will investigate.

Just for completeness I tried the above with IE (don't usually use it).

Exactly the same behaviour as FF and Chrome, login works fine but closing browser forgets it.

Just a thought: is it possible the login/logout links on the home page and the forum pages are behaving differently?

The posters below who are having problems all talk about logging in from the home page ...

I have a short cut to "whats new" in my favourites. When I click it it brings up whats new in all forums. When I click login it changes to whats new in my chosen forums . The short cut in my favourites is to whats new in my chosen forums and has always worked before, now it does as described above even after logging out and logging back in with remember me ticked. IE 11

I don't know if relevant, but for 3 days or so PH has been asking me to login on every visit despite clicking remember me etc.

At home I use Chrome, and an work it's IE of some variety. I noticed at work, when I click login link, it doesn't actually take me to login screen but instead goes straight to same gassing station homepage, but showing me as logged in without having to type in password etc. So something is remembering me at work at least.

Can't log in on my phone and have to repeatedly log in on the iPad..I'm not a techy and don't give a fook what a skin is, just want PH to work is that too much to ask ?????.
A simple explanation of what I need to do would suffice.
Why am I not surprised that I still can't log on via my phone !!!

Update - we have now managed to replicate the issues some are seeing with the login problem on a consistent basis. This will enable us to narrow down the issue and get a fix out, hopefully tomorrow.

Same, Windows 8 x64, Firefox. Given up trying to log in on my Android phone as I get the same issue, I've had the IE login issues above for the past few days but keep forgetting to visit PH and remember to log my browser build.

Hi, during login change over you've defaulted me to the login I used to use for classifieds.

My main forum login does not work and I cannot see my threads. Can you change me back to my original account please?

Thanks
