Still a complete all round login fail here...
The techies have fixed the log in problem, it's in testing at the moment so I'd of thought it'll be released tomorrow.richtea78 said:
Do you actually test the site before launch anymore or should we just consider it a live beta now?
Have you seen what RacingPete has said? Beta 2 Skin was released early due to a problem on the mobile site. And 2 million log in's have been merged to a completely new log in system, so it's expected to have a few teething problems.Edited by paulrussell on Monday 25th May 18:47

Yeah, cut them some slack! Look how well the classifieds work now ... Only taken a couple of years to still be a complete mess
I prefer the current classifieds to the one that was there originally, and since there are now 135,000 ads on the classifieds when IIRC there were around 90,000 ads when the old classifieds was taken down, I think I can safely say more people like the current classifieds to the old one.I never understood why people liked it so much, as you couldn't search for anything unless you knew what you wanted to look for, then there were the small number of pictures -3 I think.
I think people on here are adverse to change, as whenever something changes be it the search function, the classifieds or be it the much beloved mobile site people come to this section of the forum and complain they don't like it, saying why change something that wasn't broken. Well these things are broken, but we don't notice as the techies patch it up so it appears it works fine.

Complicated is not always better.

The only 'problem' with the old mobile site was they couldn't change it without paying for it. Now the new mobile site is developed in house they can change as much as they like, such as adding adverts into threads, buggering things up for users, using the userbase as testers etc. It's wonderful, progress. So do the people who like the mobile site never want the forum to be updated, to be left largely how it was when the forum was built? Or do they want it updated so it can better accommodate their browsing habits?

I think you'll find that the answer is the former given the level of feedback here hornetrider said:

Have tried suggestions above (with the exception of posting, which this may fix...), but it still won't 'remember me' as such.
Windows 7, FF 38.0.1
Logs in fine via phone, I have to click log in each time on desktop.
Have to say I prefer the old Big Blue for desktop with mobile.ph for the phone as both seem 'cleaner' that the new Beta 2. I'll get used the mobile version, (I think), but the desktop version to me looks awful.
(Edit - err, posting made no difference to the log in issue)

Logged in via the new way now. Shame the simplicity of the old mobile site is lost, that was one of the appealing things to the core membership.
Understand why it's been done - it's a business and in paying a 3rd party v diy and getting paid for ads there is only one winner.
80% of my PH browsing was by mobile, this will reduce now as the new skin is just too clunky.

I am using Vista on a desktop PC.
Everything is fine if I go onto the site via Chrome.
I cannot log in if I try with Internet Explorer.
Any ideas?
I reset my password - with the same password - and it works fine.Everything is fine if I go onto the site via Chrome.

The problem with doing that is it's really tedious.
When you try to log in, does absolutely nothing happen?
That's my problem. I try to log in on IE11 with Windows 7 on my PC at work and nothing happens (nothing, zero, not a sausage) so clicking Remember Me does nothing. If I reset, I don't have the opportunity for the system to remember. So, next session, I have to reset my password and come in through my email and the link PH send.
Nightmare.
