I still can't log in via mobile phone browser despite trying every known combination of mobile or desktop login page frown
Just to clarify - every time you try to login you get just an invalid login back? And have you tried both your email address and username (I assume you have)?

There is a previous response to this question on here (or the other thread about going live).

We have built it and have certificates and all working fine, apart from Firefox that was not working with it. So we are still looking to do this, but wasn't passed for this release so removed that feature for now.

We have rolled out a change to the length of login cookie on the forums - it is now extended to 15 days.

So as long as you post, or go to My Stuff during those 15 days you will not see the login anymore - so the devs assure me smile

I am about to head off to do a rally in South Wales, so won't be online today or tomorrow, but might check in tonight if signal - let us know if it has improved things, and the dev team will be reading the comments to see the effect of this latest change.

This should be fixed by the cookie release we did just now... it may take a little while for the cookie to update your side. But if you log out and back in again you definitely will be setup with the new longer length cookie.

Sorry, I meant IE9
We have tested it on several PCs here - but are struggling to reproduce it and all of them work fine.

We could do with some more detail on the version of IE you are using, if you can - click About Internet Explorer from the menu, and let me know exact version.

Also if there is anything else running on machine or plugins - e.g. password reminder tools, anti-virus etc.

When I log in as Vroomer, there is no link to my previous posts. Old Vroomer stuff is still there but not linked to my log in.

Have complained but got no response.
All sorted - you had registered under two different email addresses and the system linked up your newer one. This has now been aligned to your old one.

You will need to log out and back in again for it to be applied.

Pete, any chance to look into this yet please?
This has been sorted... your original account is back under Dave. - you may have to logout and back in again for that to apply.

For all those that are still having to click "Login" without actually entering any details and just being auto logged in. Please click the logout button and then log back in again entering your username/email and password, remembering to click the Remember Me option.

This should reset the timeout of cookies.

For those that still have a problem after that - please let us know the device and browser you are using and we will look into it.

Same again:

Login Screen
Sign In

Enter - ID
Enter - Password
Tick - Remember Me
Click - Sign In

Nothing - not a sausage

Click - Forgotten Your Password?
Write email address (although with no prompt you have to know this is what is required)

Go to email, click long pathname

Reset Password

Click Login and it goes straight in without repeating ID and Password.

Just for fun I logged out immediately to see if it remembered. No, it didn't. I had to do it all again.
What browser and operating system are you using?

Update - we have now managed to replicate the issues some are seeing with the login problem on a consistent basis. This will enable us to narrow down the issue and get a fix out, hopefully tomorrow.

Hi, during login change over you've defaulted me to the login I used to use for classifieds.

My main forum login does not work and I cannot see my threads. Can you change me back to my original account please?

Thanks
The dev team are trying to get in contact with you to sort this out - can you either PM me or email support and we will sort.

Got a new problem now, not 100% certain if it's PH's problem, but works elsewhere!
If I try and cut and paste something, right clicking does not bring up the normal menu (cut, copy, paste etc) but using ctrl V does work.

Windows 7 and Chrome. smile
Nah, that looks like just you, working fine on my Win 7, Chrome... got any new extensions?

Sorry in advance for the techy response here...

As part of our investigations today the cookie that is being put on your computer to know you are logged in to the forums is not being set with any expiry date - thus, when you close the browser it is not remembering you being logged into the forums (though the system remembers you are logged into PistonHeads overall).

Users of Chrome that have signed into Chrome (little name in the top right of the browser says if you have) don't have this problem, as it remembers all the session cookies from before - thus you stay logged in.

Anybody who has My Stuff as their homepage, (or the first page they visit) also wont suffer from this problem.

We are still working through the code to find the gremlin that is causing this to get a fix out so you do not have to click Login all the time.

Pete, sorry to say but I'm logged into every Chrome browser I have, and I still get this problem.
For everyone in the office that is the case with Chrome (on Windows and different versions) here, but it looks like that isn't universal for all Chrome users then.... Apologies.

For any user of IE9 struggling to login still we are working on the problem.

A workaround at the moment is to press F12 before hitting the login button and then it works fine. If you have chosen remember me then you will not need to go through that screen for a while.

Technically it is just a scrape reformatted for your screen size from our own site... so all the pages are the same site served out via a third party proxy smile
