Forums (desktop, not the newer mobile skin) now look like a junior-school coding project - awkward font-spacing etc. and clicking on the new post arrow does not refresh the thread fully. Using Firefox 38.0.1.

What has changed?

OK - so I have to select the Beta 2 skin to use (or in an attempt to use) the forums on a mobile device, which means I now have to also look at something hopelessly amateurish on a non-mobile device.

Do people actually get paid to mess this stuff up?

One thing I've never understood with web developers is the incessant need to fiddle and invariably make things worse funtionally and aesthetically.

What's wrong with the desktop?
As far as I can see it's the same easy to read, uncluttered neat desktop as always! ?

For me (albeit on Mac) the spacing is all horrible now - not as neat and tidy as previously.

As per the mobile site, overall it's just stter.

ETA: And why do the forum sub-section names (e.g. The Lounge) not appear as the title of the particular tabs they are loaded on? All I get is 'General Gassing' on every tab which is infuriating.

Selecting My Topics in Beta 2 looks awkward - the typeface is compressed slightly and has large spacing - looks like the page hasn't quite managed to load compared to the Classic skin. Ctrl+ helps a bit.

Clicking the new posts arrow also doesn't take you to the new posts nine times out of ten (e.g. you cannot see the last post as indicated by the preview), and refreshing the page doesn't help.

It's also wrapping longer user names over two lines unless I reduce the font size to unreadable.

This Beta 2 business really is complete crap on a desktop - I can see that a post has been updated, but that reply won't appear when I click on the New Posts arrow. I can even reply to the thread and the previous reply still isn't visible.

This is an issue with ad blocker, it is removing the whole post next to an advert and thus you don't see it. A bug has been raised for this and hopefully get a fix out next week.

Still happening (and having to log into the desktop site on every single visit is getting pretty tedious).

... now having to log in to the mobile site on each visit too. Useless.

The mobile site is dead. The only one to use is www.pistonheads.com.

Have you tried explicitly logging out then logging back in, checking the remember me box? That worked for me on both Android and PC.

Yes, I meant on mobile devices rather than mobile site.

Still not fixed.

Trying to view on mobile is a waste of time - virtually every Next page button click is a dead link.

Hopeless.

Using Beta 2 - clicking the next page button or manually entering a page number gives "Sorry, the address entered is not valid".

Must be something else, my Nexus and my LG are both working fine with the mobile skin. Using the skin on desktop is fine too (Chrome browser)

What's the device you are using, what browser and what version of the operating system?

The next button has never worked for me if the topic title has an apostrophe in it, although clicking one of the numbered page links works in that case.

Reported ages ago, but clearly too hard to fix.

My original whinge about this here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The basic problem is that Beta 2 looks st on the desktop.

In order to use the forums I now have to switch skin every single time I access with a different device. On a mobile I have to be on Beta 2, however it looks like garbage on the desktop as you've found with formatting all over the place.

And obviously can't use Big Blue on a mobile as it's tiny and needs manually enlarging on each page.

Same here. I do like the Beta 2 font. Well, one of them. Specifically, I like the font in the edit control when submitting a comment/reply.
