Drowning in stickies
Discussion
We are aware that they are starting to stack up, however as these are paid for adverts, by our partner companies and which at the end of the day generate the revenue required to support PH, need to have prime positioning on the forum.
It is something we are looking into but if you have any suggestions in the meantime then please feel free to share.

How difficult would it be to have more threads on page 1? (Genuinely, I don't know)
So there's 20 threads on pages 2 onwards as normal, but 30 on page 1. So you get the same amount of user-generated content per page, and the stickies keep their prominence.
I agree with this. Right now I just counted 11 stickies and 9 posts. Can't we just have 30 in total, it can be on every page if needed? It's easier to scroll down than it is to skip to page 2. Maybe even make a user option in the themes or something, then people can reduce to match the internet speed if that's the issue. So there's 20 threads on pages 2 onwards as normal, but 30 on page 1. It is getting a bit over the top when there are more ad stickies than threads on the first page - I know the ads pay for the site, but when they outnumber the content they start driving people away.
Spreading them out over a few pages and increasing the number of threads per page as others have suggested both seem like a decent ideas to improve it.

Why is this topic a sticky: Driving cars from the 80s and 90s?

It's got a ££££ sign in the first column, so is presumably paid for sticky content by the GT100 Club, whoever they are.Gassing Station | Website Feedback | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
