Well came back after seeing if anything improved. Having been dumped into GTI from mobile beta without being asked it's still borked. My stuff either dumps you in a list of your threads with no indication of those updated or randomly dumps you in a mobile looking screen, updated threads are in bold and although there is no arrow clicking on it does take you to latest viewed point. However going back to my stuff just dumps you back in the multi column screen almost as if it doesn't recognise you're on a mobile device. This is Android via Wifi.
So tried to get out of GTI and most screens don't give you the option to change except if you go through a link called My Account. Then the various skins are there, reset it back to Mobile beta. Dear God what's withall tthe arrows across the top. Unusable. So you go back to try another skin only to find the only option is GTI but you're no longer in GTI.
A long time later after much random looking through various ways to get to the screen where you KNOW the skin selector sits and finding either no option to change or if you can the only option is GTI finally found one that works. Set it to classic and that seems to work but is tricky on a small phone.
Seriously this is like walking into your local pub and being told when ordering your usual tipple that you can only have creme de menthe frappe unless you know the secret code to order a pint of pedigree.
Compared to this the Hoegh Osaka sitting on Bramble Bank had had a successful voyage.

Let's face it - your unlikely to get much feedback.
For about a year now feedback has been non-existent, responses to threads in here have been mostly non-existent or of the mollifying type.
As someone mentioned above, when this was ran by a bloke in a shed, or even in the early Haymarket days this may have been acceptable, however this is supposedly one of the biggest, busiest motoring forums on the planet and it appears to be being updated as part of a GCSE IT project.
Surely these sort of issues are not minor ones that were missed in testing?
I know this is very much a "remember when it was all fields comment" but when Garlick was here, responses used to be forthcoming in this forum and at least we felt we were being valued (even if we weren't) - we also got regular-ish feedback on what was happening and so forth.
I know their is a new guy but he doesn't seem to have a very public identity, and also the other guy Eybic who got the job to look after forums & users seems to have disappeared too.
I won't be hurling my toys out of the pram and storming off, I'll persevere as I still enjoy it here but it has certainly lost some of its..... I dunno, attraction.
Edit: What is worse is that the PH manager bloke commented on a post in this forum about sponsored content last night.
JD - Surely you couldn't have missed this thread, would it not have been appropriate to at least pass some sort of "We're looking at this, guys" type comment rather than ignoring a 7 page thread that revolves around how the website you manage is being viewed by it's users?

glad its not just me, noticed it last night using chrome. This morning (using Firefox) it seems to be picking random forums to alter
e.g website feedback gone awry, yet SP&L all OK
ETA just noticed that if I resize a window that it switches skins & appearance, how odd.

Please pick one of the following:-
1) "We're working on it, please bear with us."
2) "You are getting this 'service' for free so what are you complaining about?"
3) "It works fine here!"
4) "It's almost working, please keep clicking on the forums to generate our cash from advertising!"
5) "If you think you can do any better there's a desk and terminal waiting for you!"
6) "fk off!"
