I'm using the GTI Skin.

One particular issue is that I can't seem to be able to select the header topic.

Example: I never click on the specific sub-areas within the Porsche forum. I usually click "Porsche" and see all the Porsche threads mixed. This does not appear to be possible now. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You're right and this is something the developers are looking to correct. Hopefully it won't be too long.

To log out on the old skins it should be top right hand corner of the page
Thanks Ollie, but I always have a big advert at the top of my page and I don't seem to be able to see the log out button -

Have to agree with the posters about this new mobile skin.

I used to visit regularly on my iPhone without logging in. This new GTI skin is a step backwards. I haven't visited pistonheads since; 0 times. What's the benefit if, as multiple posters have told you, they've stopped logging on?

Why not give people the option to go back to the mobile version of pistonheads classic?

The only reason I can think is that the GTI skin may deliver adverts, whereas the mobile version of classic did not. IF that is the case, then iOS 9 will allow people to block adverts, so it's still a little pointless for iPhone users.

It'd be great if you listen to this feedback, rather than X doesn't work on GTI skin.

I got the new mobile site the other day, nice I thought, then I tried to log in and it reverted me back to what I used before?

Surely I can log in on the new mobile site and post from the new skin?

Yep - just log in, got to 'My Preferences' and change your skin to GTI.

Can always rely to Pistonheads to f**k it up with every "improvement". New classifieds so laden with poorly coded third party adverts that I no longer use it, a front page that has so much white space that if it was a magazine on the shelves it would have folded after the first edition... And now this. Select a forum topic and what do you get? On an entire iphone screen, after delicately choosing the topic to read, and then trying again, I'm rewarded with 4-5 lines of text, due to the amount of menus and other ste.

Ok, so it's not that much effort to get to where you need, but it used to be NO effort at all. Same with classifieds, the usability that made PH so rewarding has gone down the toilet. frown

Sorry Pistonheads, but it's change for changes sake in my opinion. I'm all for progression, but sadly you seem to be going backwards.

Though maybe I'm just old and no longer in the target audience. frown
So we can address and try to resolve these issues can you please upload and screen shot of the page. Also whether you're on a mac/ PC or mobile device. Which browser and Ops System you're using.
Hi Oli,

Apple iPhone 5C, not sure what version of OS off hand, but sure all will be the same regardless.

Here is a screenshot. As you can see, the main screen that you see features large amounts of nothing at all:

Here's an example of another forum to illustrate the point around wasted space. This is how you are greeted on Boxa.net, when you select a topic:

The difference being, there is stuff to read immediately without going all scrolly.

The other issue I mentioned about the crap home page, it was on the iPad, I'll see if I have a screenshot still knocking around. But in summary, it just looks dull. Yellow Pages kinda dull. frown

As for the classifieds, I rarely use them (and almost never on mobile devices) any more as its too painful. The adverts that sent you repeatedly to the app store killed it for me, so I can't offer any more feedback on that.

Relating to the foum, like I say, its a small thing but all these small-thing changes are turning me off the site, now almost completely. Sadly its not just me, of all my friends whom I frequently talk 'cars', not a single one of them has applauded any of the changes I mention above (granted, thats a very small subset of your readership, and thus you may choose to ignore this as those hard-to-please customers).

Hope that helps, sorry to rant, its just frustrates me that usability is being eroded on one of my favourite websites.

Cheers,

Paul.

Rant accepted PA Paul and thanks for going to the trouble to highlight and identify the 'glitch'
I've passed onto the developers who should be able to resolve.

I will let you know what they say.

How frustrating is it trying to post on here on your mobile. As usual its noth worth saying anything because all you'll get is we're looking into it.

I have a suggestion.....Put it back the way it was and kick the person/persons responsible in the nut cracker suite then let them get back to playing Sonic The Hedgehog on their 16 bit Megadrive.

They're not listening purely because the GTI skin now brings advertising, therefore more money.

They have no interest in hearing about going back to the old mobile version as it has no advertising, therefore no money.

Thanks Haymarket, I've stopped using PH altogether, not out of spite but because mobile was the only way I used it.

Feel free to ignore any feedback that actually makes sense, pistonheads.

Thanks for the response.

Also I've just discovered that I can select my favourite forums on the mobile. Since there are some I've never clicked on and probably never will, this will probably be a useful feature.

Still no further forward as to how I log out on my mobile....

I used to spend a lot of time on mobile PH (when I don't have my laptop/iPad to hand); know I just use other forums. Surely there is a better way to derive income from the mobile site without making it a complete pain?
