I'll keep this really snappy so PH can provide a yes or no response.

Please bring back the classic mobile pistonheads site.

You've read the overwhelming response from users that the new version is terrible and that they want the old version back. There was nothing wrong with the classic. It's looking like a godsend right now..

I think you'll find the main reason why people want the old mobile site back is that they don't like change. The old mobile site is dead and PH will not be bringing it back.

I'd say the reason is more down to, the fact the new site is st via mobile and the old one wasn't.

The GTI skin works fine for me with Chrome on various Android devices and PC.

What problems are you having with it?

Where to start ...

1. Absurd permanent button menu at the bottom of the screen
2. Screen real estate a fraction of what it was
3. No forum breadcrumb links so navigating is now multiple clicks when previously it was a single click

Those would be my top three.

Thanks for the feedback, as the GTI skin is a new platform there are always going to be a few objections and teething problems so this feedback is invaluable to its development. I will pass this onto the development team for them to investigate and see how it can be resolved/ improved.

They've said elsewhere that the old mobile site cannot come back. It was run by a third party and couldn't be updated cost effectively.
I believe their plans are that, long term, GTI will be the only theme, It'll look like the old site on a PC, but adapt responsively on phones & tablets.

Personally, now I'm used to it, I prefer GTI mobile to the old format. Yes, there is definitely room for improvement, but I don't think it's that bad..

Couldn't have put it better myself.. We are implementing improvements on a daily basis some evident some not ( back end work) so bare with us on it, that's all we ask.

Ahh. thats better.... Just set it to GTI.

The layout of this forum is a bit windows 3.1 but it works and its a P.O.P to navigate on either computer or mobile.

Same here.

This is not about "not liking change", it's simply that the new site is much worse than what it replaced - the whole point of a mobile site is to maximise screen space - does this look like it does that....

I no longer use the site whilst out and about which is a great shame, especially whilst on the train.

I would very much like to see the original mobile version of PH again.

Same here, I was on PH at most occasions when I had time to spare but now with the new 'skin' it feels like a chore trying to navigate through the website.

Same here. I used to go on during the day when I was out & about or sat waiting to pick my son up from school. Don't bother any more as it looks awful / is barely useable on my phone. Nothing to do with not liking change, but I dislike change when it makes things worse than they actually were.

Yeah it started ok, but it's very frustraiting to use now. Some pages won't even scroll down. OK so I'm using an aweful Android HTC 1, but this is the only site I really have trouble navigating. I think it's all the advertising traffic thats causing it. Time to try an add blocker!

Well, I was using Chrome, but installed Firefox and an add blocker. Even after a quick 5 mins I can tell the difference. Still a little clunky, but the pages do at least scroll better now.

Sites unusable for me now totally unresponsive. Only threads I can click on are the ones in 'My Suff'

Hi Ollie_M,

Can we now have a response to the many people who have posted that they do not like the new site?

I appreciate that the GTI skin is a work in progress, but as others have pointed out, there is a fundamental design flaw in the new website. Tinkering with it is pointless when you could just save yourself time by going back to the classic version.
