Shame there are no swear words in these adds 'cos they'd be gone in a blink.

But seriously while I understand James may be trying his best, the fact this has been ignored so long just shows utter contempt for the users. See also the ongoing phonesafe scam etc.

Facebook has just flagged an alert telling me my password has been stolen from another site, guess which site has had the same password...

Yes I know, using the same password, both low security issues as non-commerce sites.

Oh thank god it's you and not just me. I thought my phone was infected with something or other. I have been using the free bundled AVG thing since I got it last year and never had a problem like this before. Yesterday PH become completely unusable. Every time I tried to load it up, that free iphone 6 harbwire thing came up after a few seconds. This is an sony xperia z3 compact with android 5.1.1. I since did a 'purge' all the chrome data, cache etc. and it didn't come back on the first retry after. But i haven't tried it again since 'cause I couldn't be bothered with the hassle/worry of bad things happening.

Members,

We have disabled the advertising network sources, until we have clearly identified and blocked this possible rogue advertiser.

You will see only the motoring related advertisers, now accounting for 80% of our total advertisements. As per previous posts fewer and more targeted and interesting auto related ads is our advertising strategy.

It took a while, but thanks.

Now about the auto-playing "Good Guys" video ad...

(Australian electrical retailer, so you would have never seen it in the UK)

I've just been taken away from PH to this page.

http://worldtechmobile.com/

I wasn't hovering over an advert and didn't invite any kind of hack or page jump.

Just thought you should know.

G'day Adrian

The Good Guys video is from the same networks so should not be playing. Let us know if otherwise.
Have spent some time down under, so aware of the Good Guys.
best

Not so fast sonny.... I paid... yep, I donated £10 to the Ad-Block developers. That counts right? wink

(I'd probably donate a tenner to PH too if I thought it would help fix anything.)

Just did it again, still "harbwire.com" this time offering downloads for my z3 compact. So it is learning.
I have run 2 different malware checks since earlier so don't think its my phone.

Hi Ed,

To our knowledge ALL of the campaigns of this type / source are now disabled... is it still happening? (Guessing their could have been some latency between the switch off and the ads being served)

Apologies again to everyone - if it is any consolation this really is being dealt with as a serious matter internally.

Sorry Lee but you are mistaken. I just got it again, on a new device. (I got a new upgrade phone today).

Not. Impressed. Please sort this out for gods sake.

Yep, happened again to me too just now. (Happened last night too). Doesn't happen on any other sites.

Sadly that pretty much puts paid to me reading PH on my Android phone as I just don't trust any site allowing that sort of c**p to pop up and it seems ad blocking isn't achievable on the default browser?

For peace of mind, I'll stick to accessing via my desktop from now on, where the ads are blocked. Ironic really that those sh***y ads should push me to using only devices with ad blockers, thereby guaranteeing I'll never see any of your ads.....

Yup, an ad just 'hijacked' my phone (nexus 5) 10 minutes ago so something is still amiss.

Immediately reproducible by going to computers and gadgets forum. Three times in a row.

Garbage. Get it gone ffs. Your forum is infested with malware and you don't appear to give a st.

Just had this harbwire thing again.
WTF is going on?
It's been reported months ago and it still happens.

Why is it not fixed?
Surely a few months is enough time to sort it out.
Amazing that PH are happy to let it happen and not stop it.

It's on the GTI skin. You know, that fancy new skin launched to bombard us with ads enhance the mobile experience.

I've switched back to big blue for now.
