My thread gets trolled then removed. Why?
Discussion
I posted a thread asking for advice on a watch purchase. Bully-boys flock to it, call me some disgraceful names, the thread gets removed because it "turned sour". Wouldn't it have made more sense to simply delete the offending comments? Send a lesson out to those who trolled me instead of sending out the message that if someone asks for guidance it's ok to troll them and their thread will be deleted!

Having glanced at your posting history, it seems to consist of abusing others, and bigging yourself up.
That just may explain things.
Troll gets trolled - who would have guessed?
I don't think this one will go as planned. That just may explain things.

Still, at least he can take it out on the "minions" at work. He is the "daddy".
This is 1 example of why PHer's have a negative reaction to your posts...

I can't tell if you're a long-time troll or just new and being a bit of an idiot

A cursory glance suggests it's not particularly inventive trolling. "I hate the poors me" or this thread with its overwrought outrage is real low hanging fruit.
If excessive trolling or ad hominem debating drives the authority figures away, as has happened to some degree already (see LoonR1, Breadvan72, others who I'm sure simply just avoid posting) then PH is all the more worse for it.

Is this the thread where you asked about a quartz Rolex to be used as a beater? If so, I think people were wrong on both sides as there is no need to disbelieve you but you also make quite derogatory comments about other watch brands and even say that you only want to go as "low end" as Rolex. Which marks you out as either a fantasist, a completely out of touch snob, or just a nob. The mods probably deleted it for your own protection and to not let comments get out of hand on the watch forums, as that is one of the few places on PH that usually remains civil, even during disputes.
You've acted like a boorish bellend on almost every thread you've been in, so why the surprise you get treated like one? I don't care by the way, more power to your elbow. The mods generally don't clean up posts within threads, because you get quotes within quotes that need fiddling with ... so it's easier for them to just bin the thread. Google cache never forgets of course.

So why do it?
Either you don't know what ad hominem means or you haven't read the thread in question. Since it has been deleted, I guess you haven't read the ad hominem attacks on me, not by me.Stinkotanko said:

Pre-owned is second hand, so why not call it that?
This one is definitely just an idiot, no hidden comedian talents.SlackBladder said:
I think this answers your question
No it doesn't. Different thread and doesn't meet the criteria for an ad hominem; the personal attack should be in reply to a point to which the attacker has no reply. Simply calling someone an idiot does not constitute an ad hominem.Stinkotanko said:

Doesn't stop you looking like a though. As far as I can see, every time you rely to a ost in which the OP asks for advice, you add nothing constructive to the ost.
You then complain that when you srarted a thread asking for advice, all you got was a slagging off.
Well my advice is to remember that as you sow, so shall you reap.

Doofus, I think the letter "p" on your laptop is broken.
Whenever you ost anything with that articular letter it misses the letter "". Anyway, let's get back to helping the O understand that acting like a rick means eole on istonHeads are always going to be helfull in their resonses and relies.
