Over half of the available topic space in GG is devoted to sticky/promotional topics - isn't this a bit excessive?!?!

If you don't think so, then how about a suggestion to at least increase the topics per page from 20 to something more useful like 30-40?

Increasing the topics per page is the best idea and as such it will never happen.

Better still, give people the option to pick how many they show per page.

17th March I mentioned it and got no reply.

Sorry fo the lack of input on the previous comments ... It is something that we are aware of and have had several conversations about the best way to spread these promoted threads out, as we agree they are domineering the index.

The idea that we are leaning towards is having them spread over the first three pages on a rotation basis.

As with anything though this will require dev time that needs to be allocated to this if and when approved.

Thanks for the reply Ollie, and far from me to challenge, but can I ask what the issue is with increasing the amount of threads on display, or allowing users to define it?

Shirley less dev work needed and an increase in user customisation can only be a good thing?

No not at all, perfectly fine to ask. Basically, its the nature of the beast, and so comes down to dev time and developers available.

We are such a small team here and all jobs no matter how big have to be logged and allocated a 'slot' . Also, we work on a triage system so those jobs that aren't a priority are put in holding so it's just a case of waiting for an opening.

With so much activity across the forums, classifieds and front end there always something that requires atention.. And let's not forget the Ads. smile

We are in fact on a recruitment drive and are looking for new developers to join the team.
