Are Haymarket interested in sorting out the knobheads here?

What a st party.
Should people be allowed to say whatever they want?Obviously there are degrees of tolerance and thats the issue around here seemingly.
In the wider world some people are quite prepared to debate and to accommodate the wishes of others while some overreact and have a propensity toward violence.

Within reason, yes.

So why complain about anyone calling you racist or a knuckle dragger? Free speech is free speech?Obviously there are degrees of tolerance and thats the issue around here seemingly.

I threatened no-one nor did I scream 'nuke the bds'. Within those threads you'll not find a single 'send 'em home' type comment, yet the cries of 'Racist !' and 'Knuckle dragger !' echo throughout the thread.

But as I may have pointed out to another around here, you see what you want to see.
I leave others to do the complaining and man the report button. Its not my style.

Sorry the only thread I saw AW111 referr to was a pistonheads one (0933 this morning)
I don't read mumsnet so won't comment.
I also don't read Woman's Weekly, the Catholic Times, The Jewish Chronicle, The Morning Star or The Daily Mail.
Apart from PH my current favourite reading is
www.thelady.co.uk and www.thechap.co.uk

Right but as people keep pointing out, this isn't the wider world, it's a business. Obviously there are degrees of tolerance and thats the issue around here seemingly.

Also unlike the wider world, google makes it likely that people will be attracted to a forum based on the kinds of posts in it.

Haymarket.
Quite.Let's assume your neighbour is holding a party and invites you, and whilst you're in their kitchen you decide to go off on one about whatever your particular pet hate is and they ask you to leave because they don't agree and a couple of the other guests have complained.
When you're a guest in someone else's house, "free speech" doesn't really apply.
I'm not sure why that's such a difficult concept to grasp.

I looked for the point in your post, perhaps you'd care to elaborate ?
You're comparing a forum run as a business to the wider world. T5XARV said:
Is a forum where people meet to exchange views not comparable with the real world then ?
Well, in the world outside PH, calling people idiots, s, tts and fkwits (to name a few of the insults I have seen used on here) is likely to have a worse outcome than just a temporary posting ban.Gassing Station | Website Feedback | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
