All of this reticence and disingenuous appeasement in fixing this problem makes much more sense when you accept that advertisers are the real customers on here, we're just the commodity being trafficked.

I wouldn't be averse to paying a nominal yearly sub for Pistonheads forum, especially if that guaranteed further development of it past software that was created this decade. But to be honest with things like this happening over and over again, with false statements made about it being fixed, doesn't inspire confidence.

It is manifestly obvious from all these "we promise it'll be fixed, for real this time!" platitudes that Haymarket have a very dim view of the people who actually read the forums.

Apologies - I thought I had posted an update.

Are the Tom Hartley ads auto playing with sound or just auto playing without? If they are auto playing with no sound, that is allowed I'm afraid... However, they are strictly not allowed to auto play WITH sound. The ads team think they have eradicated the ads with sound auto playing but please let me know if not.

The Tom Hartley Ads were definitely playing with sound, I don't know if they are anymore

It does cause microphone to pop up.

Autoplaying ads are still obnoxious even without audio. I certainly will be keeping adblock on if PH consider autoplaying video ads acceptable.

If i adjust my media volume while the speaker icon in my phone is displayed it olags audio.
