Hi all,

Thank you for the continued reports about the unruly audio ads, it really helps us clamp down on them. The Hulu ad has been blocked!
Please can I ask that when you report the ads to, its incredibly helpful to have as much info about it as possible. Most specifically the click through URL, and any kind of description of it (e.g. the advertiser, the size/shape of the ad, etc.) so that we can get rid as soon as possible!

Thank you again smile

Nothing like having your un-paid user Community do all the hard work for you when the lazy marketing people sit with their feet up.

Not at all, it would be near impossible to monitor every forum and every ad on PH (it is quite a large site after all...) unless we had unlimited resources, which unfortunately we don't. So asking members to report unruly ads and give us 'website feedback' doesn't seem at all unreasonable to me, quite the opposite actually!

Cheers,

Jack

I know it's not your fault. And I'm not pissed off with you.

But myself and many, many other users have been suffering from automatically playing Audio Adverts for a long, long time.

Nothing changes.

PH should be in full control of what types of adverts are allowed on it's site - It is not. That is a failing of your marketing/web teams.

I'm all for user feedback of forums, bugs and weird behaviour, but this is not weird behaviour at all.

It's piss-poor running of the website and adverts and been reported multiple times by multiple users and yet WE STILL HAVE THEM!

“If one person tells you you're a horse , they are crazy. If three people tell you you're a horse, There's conspiracy afoot. If ten people tell you you're a horse, it's time to buy a saddle”

Just like :

- Secure browsing/Login
- Phonesafe-gate
- Audio adverts

They VERY quietly and subtly changed their stance on this a while back, now they are allowed to auto play but no sound and basically just a big fk you if you are reading on 3/4G

Use Ublock Origin. It's the only way to prevent this stuff. If PH can't control something as basic as audio ads, they will have no clue how to prevent malicious ads. We've already seen how highly they rank user security with the blasé approach to getting https in place.
