I wasn't sure where to put this as it's more a journalistic request more than a forum one, but here goes.

Is there any realistic possibility of weighing the cars you test and maybe doing a 0-60mph sprint with a vbox attached?

I'm not really sure if people would be that interested in it but I know I'm always curious as to whether the performance and weight figures actually match what the manufacturers claim. This most recently occurred to me with the DB11 vs 911 Turbo article, the Aston is listed as 1,770kg dry and I wondered what that translated into with a tank of fuel and a driver in a production car(I'm suspicious of whether I can trust the EU kerb weights as well!).

You guys are already doing a good job with the content, I just thought it might be a nice addition if possible.

Thanks

Fuel weighs about 750g/litre. Drivers tend to be aware of their own weight. The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe standardised kerbweight figures are tested in exactly the same way as dry figures, but with all standard equipment (including tools, spare wheel etc), all normal fluids (90% full fuel tank) and 75kg (11st 8lb) driver.

Ok, so to get the wet weight from the dry weight, how much coolant is there? How much engine oil? Washer fluid? Gearbox oil?

Once you have all that, how much weight do the options add? The Aston, for example, has £35k of options on it, do these weight more or less than what is on the base car?

I apologise if it wasn't clear in my original post, I am interested in the weight of the cars as tested as I don't really have any faith in the quoted figures, much the same for the acceleration figures provided by the manufacturer. It would be nice if the discrepancy was the same from manufacturer to manufacturer, but it isn't, for example the Turbo/Turbo S seems to consistently hit it's quoted 0-60mph figure and the GTR doesn't.
