Contacting a banned member via pm?

A question for admin/mods please.

I've lost the contact details for a poster who I was in contact with who was banned previously and have tried to contact him via the site system through his profile page but I have only been met by a blank page.

I won't go into too much detail but I understand that the poster in question was banned from the site due to some issues on the F1 sub-forum.

Could someone advise please?
