The sign in issues is still relevant. Could forum admin/developers fix this very basic issue?
It’s been 4 and a half years since this thread was created, so I wouldn’t expect the devs to do anything about it.

Well, personally I would certainly expect them to fix the issue - perhaps even more so since this is an old issue. The issue seems to impact lots of users, occurs often and is related to a very basic forum functionality and fixing such issues should be high on the development team priority list.

I haven't found any information on what the actual forum software on this forum is. Perhaps the forum software is proprietary software developed by PistonHeads themselves (or somebody has developed if for them)? Perhaps that is the reason why it has lots missing functionalities/bugs compared to other commonly used forum software. And it also seems like not much development effort is put into fixing these issues.

Whilst you'd be forgiven for expecting the issue to be fixed, given that it's been years now and it's still not fixed, can only lead you to the conclusion that it will never be fixed, because if anyone had any intention of fixing it, they would have fixed it by now.

Yes, I'm well aware that likelihood of the development team actually fixing this issue is low. It also seems like the expectations in relation to this forum's admin/development team in general should be set very low.

However, if nobody raises issues then even less things will happen in terms of forum development/fixing issues.

Which may be their actual intention ?

Yip, still happening after all these years. Developers clearly don't give a schist about it.

What irritates me is that when I first visit the site after opening my browser, it requires me to sign in. But if I don't sign in, it still resets my "last visit" time and date, so it must know who I am. I've come here, realised I need to look at something else, gone away and come back only to find that only a few threads are marked as updated, but there are plenty (by date) that have actually been updated since I last logged in.

After having to log in yet again I can't help wondering... if everyone affected by this emailed the admin every time it happened, how long would it take for them to get annoyed enough to do something about it? Or would they just ban us instead? hehe

My workaround via Chrome on Android is just to hit "My Stuff" ever time I visit the site first, then I don't need to log in. It's been going on so long that it's become muscle memory.

It is indeed very irritating that the forum admins/development team doesn't seem to have any interest in fixing this kind of a very basic issues like the need to log in everytime a user wants to access the forum. This issue seems to impact a lot of users and therefore should be quite high on the priority list for bugs that need fixing.

I have no idea how to get the admins to react to (and to fix) this kind forum issues. Admins seem to be almost non-existent and very hard to reach on this forum.
