Still getting this problem, and even though I've taken out all the formatting it's not working.

Is there anyone from PH who actually reads this thread? The issue was first identified 3 years ago, and you would have thought a website which is all about the community and where most of the readership comes for the forum would make an effort to ensure the forum actually works!

Something in this sentence is giving a 403 error. I've added spaces so it will actually post!!

It seems it doesn't like the words 'select'
and 'from' on the same line of text.

Add a carriage return anywhere between the two, or simply edit/remove one of those words and it will post.

When asked in the Commons Select Committee what the process would be for someone
from an unnamed African nation to apply for asylum in the UK she couldn't answer.

Presumably thinks it's SQL. No wonder people are struggling if it's that naive.

That's probably why it happened with parentheses for me. That and another SQL component in the same text and it thinks you're injecting SQL?

I removed the brackets and the post worked.

still an issue?

What is the easy TL:DR response to how to avoid the error?

The way to avoid the error, is not to post things which trigger it.

The problem is that what triggers it not overly obvious even with hindsight and computer software knowledge.

I still get the cookie privacy policy pop up
every
single
time
I change the page. The only cure has been to not use Chrome to view PH.

I've been getting this error tonight while try to post the following reply in a thread:

I had to post it as an image like that in order to get past the 403 error...

It's amazing that over 3 years after it was first noticed nobody from PH Towers has tried to fix the issue. Do they even have web developers?! If so, what do they do all day??

There's a new OP Posts Only button next to the pagination. So at least they're going through the feature requests in priority order.

Its seeing it as SQL Code (database language)

Ah yes. Am I the only one wondering what it's actually for though? Who wants to see a topic and no replies except from the OP's?

It only really makes sense in the Readers' Cars section if you only want to see updates from the OP on their project without all the chatter from other people.

I've just been pointed to this thread having seen the 403 forbidden error.

I was trying to post the text below but with () around the IIRC. Remove the brackets and it posts. I've written SQL queries in the past but not recently, so I'm puzzled as to why as IIRC isn't a SQL keyword that I know.

Edit to say it's not IIRC as I changed IIRC to from memory (inside brackets) and got a 403.

I picked up a couple of other Lidl exclusives on Friday. Salt Casual Pale and Magic Rock Big on Haze. I would rate them as pretty decent and good value at £1.79 each IIRC for 440ml cans.

Do you mean you had it as "(from memory)"

If so () and FROM are used in SQL so possibly the combination of both? It certainly seems to be a common theme that if you have more then one SQL component on any one line then you get the error.

Edited to add...

This errored but still seems to have posted. I had to edit the reply to split the SQL parts, then saw both were in the thread (Now deleted)

Ah, yes could be brackets and From, though it didn't like just IIRC inside a set of regular brackets

Another classic case of user error....
