Also received the exact same texts from Alan 07445 004165 to go to advancedhpi.co.uk but it seems the fee has gone up to £20 now.
Glad I googled it first.

Alan is still at it. Same number.

He didn’t sound right to me, so did a google and this thread came up.

He has been told to ‘go away’!

Action Fraud aren’t exactly moving quickly on this one!

Well, I'm joining the club here. Alan contacted me about my car I have for sale, he seemed very legit and after several back and forth messages he asked me to complete an online check using advancedHPI.co.uk id never heard of the website before and noticed it took 2-3 hours for a report to come through so I found another website and completed an instant check which I paid £20 for. I forwarded it to his email address (same as others have said) and he replied saying id completed the wrong check and he wanted one from the website he mentioned. When I compared what my report covers Vs his I couldn't figure out what the difference was so I went to call him and the voicemail wasn't linked to a network and sounded like an American phone. Thought that was strange so I googled his number and we'll, here I am 🥲 very convincing! Be careful out there!

Thank heavens for this thread. After telling ‘Alan’ he needed to do his own HPi I was thinking about doing it for him, then something didn’t seem right, he said his mechanic required it WTF?

Googled his number and it brought me to this thread.

Alan has just contacted me too via text from 07445004165. Again another genuine enough start to the conversation, willing to drive up from Canterbury to the midlands to pay cash for the A45 I have listed which started to ring alarm bells. Then he asked me to click on the advancedhpi link. No thanks! Be careful out there.

Alan is still plying his unscrupulous trade. Almost had me today over text thread until I couldn’t find the “advanced HPI check” website he was after. Then I found this thread. Beware!

It seems Alan ..165 is keeping active. An SMS the day after I posted.

His latest advice, after some sensible SMS, is for me to use advancedhpi.co.uk.

Given his response time on the last long text Alan may be a programme or generative AI.

WELCOME TO THE MATRIX

Another variation to be aware of: Garner on 07893 944505 pushing autochecks.co.uk (note the plural) - similar half-baked website, some pages in Latin, which is surprising as the domain was only registered in October last year!

He has a very similar turn of phrase to Alan.

Another Alan member - only had the car listed a day and got the first text - googled the number and came straight to this thread.

Replied to his message asking to view telling him that it’s been sold - that seems to have stopped more messages
Thanks all
