After being a watcher here for a while I decided to log in and post a comment on the News forum.

It appears, however, that one or more of the forum bouncers have decided that I cannot post there as I haven't made five thousand posts or somesuch nonsense.

Perhaps I could make a contribution to the Degenerate Computer Fiddlers Benevolent Fund, that would oil the wheels. Or not.

Anyway, I really can't be bothered with it.

IIRC it's 1000 posts elsewhere; given this is was created as a motoring forum and News & Politics gives the moderators the biggest workload with bad behaviour it's not unreasonable.

You're not missing anything. The politics threads are mostly populated by 50-60 year old angry liberal lefty pro-immigration handwringers who are still mad that Brexit happened and Orange Man is still Bad. Most of them have been posting the same crap into the void for 15 or 20 years on here. Best avoided.

Read the title and thought perhaps economics was being split off from NP!

I'd vote for that. I think there would be some really interesting discussions.

rofl Quod erat demonstrandum, NP&E is easily the most contentious sub-forum and places a disproportionate workload on volunteer moderators.

That sounds exactly like the profile of NP&E's most prolific poster, the notoriously green lefty posting as turbobloke. smile

Interestingly, that's only been an even vaguely accurate description since the 1000 post rule was instituted. It definitely shifted something.

I’d guess TB is a bit over 60 tbh.. Anyway, he has over 103,000 posts which is a good effort!

No. It's Byker28i.

Everyday a dozen Anti-Trump posts culled from the internet.

I suggested the thread should be renamed "I'm a Lefty & I'm triggered by Trump's existence" & was banned from NP&E for trolling.

I have reported various posts from Byker & his little Lefty gang for trolling & posting irrelevant content in the Trump thread but not even an acknowledgement from the Mods.

I fully suspect that the mod is in the anti-Trump gang.

Will I get a perma ban for this? Wouldn't surprise me.

Breaking two rules in one post is a good way of going about it. smile

Which 2 rules do you think I've broken here?

You acknowledge trolling and you're complaining about moderator decisions.
