Guide on how to post a picture

PetrolTed said: Mrs Fish, you've been caught out by a URL designed to stop remote embedding of pictures. (That's fair enough really, unless you own the site then it's theft of their bandwidth - I have to pay for people linking to pictures on here)
It's better netiquette to link to a site that you don't own rather than use their pictures:
Link was www.funnyjunk.com/redir.php?pic/0538.jpg
Thanks Ted but isn't linking to a site that I don't own what I've been trying to do.

Right this didn't work, the code looks exactly like what the other pics here do, so why the FCUK does'nt it work?????
This is the first time in 10 years I've had any trouble with an apple mac. I just can't understand why it's not working.

Take the "redir.php?" bit out and you should get it.
Okay this worked only because I copied farmboys quote for the code.

now if I put in my original code that didn't work and take out the part that farmboy suggested will it work???
YES, YES,YES now let me try another one from scratch. Just to test the theory Ted you understand

farmboy by jove I think we've done it
Although the others I tried looked the same code as the one above, I can't understand the logic, but thanks to everyone who have helped me try to sort it out.

I used fotango last sunday.
I set it up. My profile linked to the photo a few times, great I thought, then ten minutes later it wouldn't link. It's as if Fotango have put some sort of deliberate block on it.
Best to find a mate who has a website and get him to "host" it for you then email you the address/link. You then just copy the address/link and dump it in the box in your profile update section.

It looks like you didn't use the Get a link to this picture feature from fotango?

I go to my fotango album choose a pic & click it, then click 'get a link to this picture'. Then left mouse click & drag on the http://www etc etc then it turns blue then right mouse click & chose copy.

Wow, cheers Bodo.
I did the get a link thing on Fotango and without changing anything on pistonheads the pic of my new Audi is displayed!
The bad news is that I can now post details of the Chimaera in the for sale section
