Is it just me, but some pages are not formatting to the correct size when I view them? I have to scroll left and right to read them.

It's not all topics or all pages, but it is happening on both work and home PC's (both running Firefox if that's a pointer?).

Anyone else affected?

only when the page has a large photo, long link or long bit of text with no spaces - otherwise fine.

Connectivity is flakey as hell today though, dont know if it's connected.

Do you mean just in the forums or all over the site?

Just the Forums Ted.

Usually with a long sentence or a large picture the thread will 'resize' to my screen, but a long sentence such as this just shoots way out to the right without the text dropping onto two or even three lines.*

*Longwinded to see if this proves the point.

Edited to add - it doesn't!

I pressumed that was aimed at TS Ted - not my comment on the connectivity? just in case, only having a problem on the forum, rest of site seems fine!

I get that when loading a page with HUGE pictures, once fully downloaded my browser resizes them to fit.
I think it would be better if people could resize their pics before uploading, with a link to hi-res if required; I resize mine to 800*600 and increase compression to try to achieve a 50-60k size, still clear enough to make the point.

It's Teds clever doing that resizes, used to have loads of very wide pages on here. A browser will only do it if it is just the pic on it's own and not when embeded into a web page - anyway reason for my post is you are best to resize to 750 rather than 800 wide and you will then avoid Ted's resizer altogether and pics will look all the nicer for it.

Thanks for that tc, I will bear that in mind in future ( although I have already loaded HEAPS at 800 wide on my profile...)

Seems to have been a lot of HiRes pics loaded lately, esp on the PF pics and County threads.
