On another forum I use they have a thumbnail feature for posting pictures. Basically you tag the picture as [thumb]picture[/thumb] and instead of a huge posting it'll just have a clickable thumbnail.

This is very bandwidth friendly but also useful for dial up/pda/etc. users.

The main problem is the forum has a tiny fraction of the membership here and even they sometimes have issues with everyone knowing to use the feature. They rely a fair bit on the mods to clean things up although the regulars do seem to have learned to use it now.

Any use for PH?

The thing with the a tag like that is to actually reduce download times it needs to take a copy of the picture, resize it and save it. Our pic tags resize to 750 pixels wide for the sake of tidyness but it won't reduce download times. That can only be done really if we're hosting the pictures (something I do intend to add at some point in the next few months).

Fair enough. At least the resize feature is on here. Very annoying that you have to scroll left and right to read text on other forums after someody has posted a huge pic.
