RE: PistonHeads + Haymarket
Discussion
Congratulations to you guys for all your hard work over the years.. good to see you will benefit from the hard work and excellent site you've created.
Still I can't help but feel sad that it's the end of an era for such a site which has always shared and provided(for free without any need to log in etc), enthusiastic motoring media of the highest level.
I used to be a regular on the Autosport website too until Haymarket fkd that up by only allowing you to read partial articles unless you registered and logged in.. I don't participate in that kind of bullying tactic and never go near it now using crash.net instead.
Like I said though, well done on the fruits from everyone's efforts at PH and we can only pray that PH remains to the core as it has been over the past few years and haymarkets influence does not fk PH up too.

Nice one Ted, free subscriptions to Autosport all round?
More like a subscription to post here I suspect....
I think this is great news if the site is going to develop in the way that Ted describes. And to be honest I'd probably pay a tenner'ish per year to subscribe and continue having full access. Wouldn't everyone? As long as PH don't just become a massive advertising portal and continues to maintain the current culture but with further channels, then roll on!
Hopefully they'll resist the pop-up hell of other Haymarket sites though...
Well done Ted!

Subscriptions OR advertising - you can't justify both IMO.
Well done - you've made you're own luck and largely - from what I've seen - from your personality and enthusiasm that seeps through the site - again, well done Mr Ted.
You hit the nail on the head when you said 'community', that's the feel I've got from here and I think even in this 'interwebbed-up 'n' savvy' day and age it's a rare thing that others spend grillions trying to create.
Cheers for the work that made it work, say hello to Martinique as you drift past!!

A lot of 'commercial' portal and channel based sites now take the tack of everyone has full access; but if you don't want the pop-ups or adverts you have to pay a small'ish subscription.
