My definition of a small amount more seems at odds with PH.

The silence on this matter is very telling.

Well 30 seconds googling shows the number is run by a company called 'promotions4ll Ltd' - http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/Number-Checker/Chec...

And Ofcom's rules for use of 070 numbers - http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/numberin... - I don't see any requirement in there to publish the cost of the call with the number.

Love the fact that their helpline is an 0800 number laugh

Indeed at 37.5p per minute if I called from my landline, that's 12.5 times the cost of a standard call!

I only quoted the regulator's site. Perhaps report it to them if you're that bothered.

No 'rough' price even listed for mobiles. I'll tell you though, its 66p a minute!

That's infinite times the standard mobile cost, as all my calls are free.

I think it varies by operator so it is difficult to list exact prices and prices are always being changed by the mobile operators, for example I saw an advert last night from "3" stating they are no longer charging for 0800 numbers whereas all the others do. We are working on this and it has been given priority, something will be in place shortly to help identify the "phonesafe" box as containing further information about it.

Yes, but there are not that many providers, so surely an average or "O2 charge this much" would be better.

Its 75p a minute from a mobile

I made about 8 calls in a month, 5 of which must have hit answerphones and were around 30 seconds in duration...these where charged at 75p per call

the other three were around £55

one for 50 minutes @ around £37

20 minutes @ around £15

and another for a few minutes @ £2

Theres is no way I would be on the phone for 50 minutes if I knew how much that was costing !

It just doesnt make sense to not have a clear warning next to the number.

I have now been told by my mobile provider that Pistonheads should provide compensation as there was no clear warning

I am waiting to hear from Pistonheads after quite a few emails back and forth.

I have also made complaints to the relevant organisations regarding this, ie OFCOM, OFT, ACTION FRAUD etc

I am a car enthusiast and enjoy the PH brand, I am not here with some crusade or vendetta,

but I do feel like they are taking the P on this one and should sort this out, not just for me but for all users of their service.

It's all irrelevant as they've not bothered to listen up until now, and even if they did, it'd be on the page that people don't know is there.

Maybe its irrelevant to you and I understand where youre coming from

but its very relevant to me, as it is real money that has to be paid,

hopefully PH will do something about it, so others arent in the same boat.

Hey, no, it is relevant to me. I meant that PH doesn't seem to comment on this topic, so regardless of what we're saying, it won't get actioned.

This thread is 5 years old and the PH team have been saying that something will be done soon since page one.............

That would stop them raking it in though.

I dunno, that seems a little unfair - it's a good, useful service that needs to be paid for somehow?

Also, i think they ended revenue sharing on 070 numbers? clicky
