special order ?
I thought all 99's were the fixed headlights ?

Like Carlo's recently sold VT with SV engine cover and intakes, anything was possible at the time.
I'm aware of supposedly factory fitted VT parts to one of the 99 SVs.

Hi Spark_s,
I received the 97-99 Workshop manual last night, and all the Model Year 99 are listed as having fixed headlights
Are you sure your car is not a MY98 first registered in 1999 ?
The chassis number gives it away - if it ends with WLA12nnn, its a MY98 car.

Can you advise please ?

That has happened to quite a few exotics, build date and reg date are 2 different things; and allot of exotics sat around in dealers or private collections unregistered.

Interesting looks like it is a 98 car but has some of the 99 spec i.e. VVT and the ABS for example!

Good question , I,ve got pics on my broken hard drive that I can,t access , but from memory
Blue Scuro was in Essex , sold to a guy named Haugton I Think and on ph , other blue scuro involved in a crash cat 3 restored and on eBay a few years ago by a Mr Ravat , I don,t think it sold , two yellow SV,s and the yellow roadster were at Carlo,s at Top Gear cars some time ago , orange one and the red one makes 7 I know , however I was told it was nine by a reliable source , there could have possibly been 3 yellow and 3 blue !

MY98 and 99 had the 18" wheels all round with larger brakes, ABS and the VVT 530bhp engine, according to my sources.

Model Years start in September the year previous - so WLA12nnn starts in September 1997 to August 98, XLA12nnn is September 1998 to August 1999

you can get build certificates through the dealers, but not sure if there is a charge for this.

Whats the dash look like on yours ? long curved dash overhanging central console ?

Nice SV , looks to be a 98 , the 99 models had the same dashboard as the 6.0 litre models built in headlights and valve timing management .

the 99's dashboard is slightly different to the 6.0 VT - the vents are in different place and only in the middle - on the 6.0 VT they have one at the door side too, and the Lamborghini badge between the two in the centre.

Didn,t know that , havn,t seen too many 6.0 vt,s up close , same basic dashboard though wavy design and instrument lights set in black glass first introduced on the 99 as opposed to the binnacle dashboard design used on models before 99 . For me it,s probably the telling factor when defining a 99 model to the 98 .

Two Diablos at the Alford Transport Museum storage unit just before Speedfest this year: a SE30 and a 6.0 VT. Anyone know what number the SE30 is?

how many SV Diablo's remain in the UK?
I understand 42 RHD total were imported originally, of which 8 were 1999 fixed headlight models.

I think this may have been the 3rd Scuro Blue car:

That's the ex-Ravat car - the 2nd Blue Scuro car, that was Cat D - vehicle damaged but repairable - insurance company decided not repair.

story I was told, was the technician was stopped at some traffic lights, and a lorry clipped the rear side.

Was sold in November 2013 to latest owner (me), and I'm in the process of getting it sorted out...

If anyone know's anything else about the history (pre-2010) please PM me.
