Finally a sensible barometer

Did anyone see it up close? Did it look good?

I had a good look around this car. It looked like it had a recent respray.
There was overspray on the edge of the door jams, the door jams themselves were not painted as these had faded slightly.
Some parts were not refitted very well and there were some cracks/corrosion on the paint.

What a bizarre dealership- they sell everything from brand new Aventador SVs to fourteen year old Mondeo diesels

And for some reason they have striped this up at £10k less than that one with the horrible cut about dash they also have for sale???

Another Diablo being auctioned later today at Brooklands Historics.

http://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2016-06...

I went to the viewing day yesterday and had a look at it. Externally looks quite nice but internally leather is very worn and marked. Makes me question the 8,500 miles.

My car's done 50% more miles but the leather is unmarked...

Their website is showing "High Bid £160,000 PASSED" which means it didn't sell.

My guess is that £160k was a bid off the wall. If it had been real then 10% commission +VAT would have pushed the total up to £179,200. At that level and an estimate of £160k-£190k it surely would have sold.

Personally I don't think early VT's are worth anywhere near that guide, but I'm not an expert, only an owner who keeps an eye out for whats being advertised.

Talking to someone recently who is 'on the inside' of the auction world, he said achieved prices have stalled but sellers are setting ever higher reserves expecting to hit the jackpot - that could be exactly the scenario here(?)
