Hello all! It's about ten years since I last posted smile

I've had my eye on getting an Aventador for some time! (Currently have a Cali, an AMV8 and a couple of AMGs, but this will be my FIRST EVER V12!))

I'm _almost_ ready so I visited Lamborghini Sevenoaks and discovered that no more standard Coupes or Roadsters are being manufactured. There's a facelift coming in 2017, and there are no Pirellis or SVs available either.

If you have the time to help, I have two quick questions... Is it worth waiting for a dealer to find the exact car I want (nearly new roadster) or should I go private? Is it worth asking an official dealer to buy from a private seller on my behalf to make it 'approved'?

Secondly, should I hold out for a 'collectable' such as a Pirelli or a 50th? Are they _really_ likely to go up in value/depreciate much more slowly?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

There no official 'approved' programme as there is no extended factory warranty post purchase...

The pirelli edition is just cosmetic touch up, the 50th has a new front and back, a bit sv like, so more likely to be desirable... Bit rare though...

Might be a few owners chopping their cars in against SV's, which may bring more "standard" cars to market ... Maybe.

Im not sure you would even find a car for sale privately let alone one to your spec etc, its bad enough trying to selling at the gallardo / 360 levels.
speak to Brent at sevenoaks (which you probably did) and Craig at Pangbourne either will know of cars that will likely to be coming to the market.
If you can find a private car then have it checked over and put a warranty on it yourself.

Thanks for your comments guys. I've never bought a car at this level before (my California was £153k, bought straight from Lancaster Colchester, so it was a super easy sale.), so I'm a bit nervous! smile

I'll give Craig a call - thanks for the info!

2017 will be quite good I reckon. Presumably the same chassis still, visual update and some mechanical updates too (almost certainly a DSG gearbox).

Buy a 2nd hand one from them, and chop it in for a new one in 2017.

A good friend is about to sell his black 2012 Aventador, 7k miles, FLSH, IMMACULATE!

Lambo London are about to take it on SOR, they say they'll return him 215/220k

Only if they change the tub - the current tub doesn't allow for a DCT gearbox.

You can have extended warrantees up to 5 years - all available from your friendly dealer - when you buy the car new - you can buy a 5 year pack.

If you're serious about buying a nearly new/good spec car - PM me - my very good friend who had a very similar Roadster to mine (his cars are better maintained than most and want for nothing) is selling his (he's fallen in love with his 918).

surely 400k is too close to the price of the much less prone to depreciation SV ?
