Hello everyone,

I currently have a Gallardo LP570 SL and I'm looking at the next purchase. I've narrowed it down to a Huran SL when it's released or an Aventador. I've driven a Huran and I?m not massively keen on the interior and the exterior seems very nice, but not fantastic. That's just my personal opinion,

So, I'm thinking that the Aventador may be a better fit. The car won't be tracked and it won't be a daily driver but it will get some very spirited drives. However I'm not sure about the size, of the car or what they're like to live with. Both currently have perceived pro and cons.

If anyone could take a few moments to outline their Aventador ownership experience it would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

GoM

Had my Aventador for 2 1/2 years now.

You soon get used to it and it's never seemed that big to me, but I've never had a smaller Lambo. This was my first.
Other than a seat fault that was fixed under warranty, it has been faultless, gets used very spiritedly and never fails to put a smile on my face whenever I take her out.

My car has done 12,000 miles now and still feels solid and new. Once you get used to them, they stick to the road like glue in all conditions. The warranty has expired now and I didn't feel the need to even ask about £ to extend it, doesn't seem to be much point as its not had any issues (touches wood).

The doors, the sound, the looks, it's got everything and you won't ever regret buying one.

They do attract a LOT of attention though, (all positive), but worth bearing in mind in terms of colour choice, but the cars suit bright colours imo. I've done prom trips, taken brides to weddings etc (all for friends), let kids sit in it when out, it's all part of owning a car like this.

I would thoroughly recommend an Aventador as a weekend toy, but I've also driven it to work several times a week in the summer.

Good luck and happy hunting. driving

Agree with above!

Coupe was fantastic - did a couple of European tours with my other half - luggage no problem! I had the sports exhaust and also the roadster wheels which transformed the handling. Also had the stop/start engine cut off - which works in town really well. Get used to petrol station - where everyone ask how much, how fast and do you want to swap cars. Also be prepared for random strangers asking for a ride......I always tried to let the kids jump in and let their parents take pictures....

Roadster was my favourite though - you had the best of both worlds - plus you could drop the rear windscreen down to hear the engine more. I drove with the roof off as often as possible - not a car for a shrinking violet! If you went touring - you couldn't have the roof off though.

Coupe was much better around a track though - you could feel the extra 50KG. Did 16,000 miles in both cars over two and a half years.

Is it as good as the 458Speciale? No. But better than the stock 458.

Just waiting for my 3rd - SV - due Q1 this year! Decided not to go for the SV Roadster - and will take the plunge with McLaren in a LT Spider.....
