anyone know the Five Star Countachs?
Two of the band had Countachs and came into the petrol station I was working in at the time in Sunningdale - one white, one dark blue I think, would have been 1987/88
I remember those from back in the day! I am sure they had 5 star number plates, and the old man had 5 5TAR or such like on a big Merc or Roller. Two of the band had Countachs and came into the petrol station I was working in at the time in Sunningdale - one white, one dark blue I think, would have been 1987/88
I'm trying to lay my hands on some photos I have had since a kid of a white Countach that was parked around the corner from where I grew up to add it to this thread.

All since sold on many times. A friend of mine had the candy apple blue one for a few years. It now lives in England. They had multiple reg plates over the years. However I think they all had the original colours, well the last time I asked about 6 years ago or possibly more. HI, Just out of interest, which QV Is this? Is it E482NUL or is it Harry Metcalfe's car? Nice having two on display! Robert W
E482 NUL is not the Harry Metcalfe car and is owned by Mark Hart, with the previous owner being a Mr Mamood and was E732 KWL we understand who at the time had 2 with the other being a LHD car in Black and was pretty prolific in the West End at the time!

Thanks for this. Yes, Harry Metcalf's car and Mark Hart's cars are different cars amongst the many red Countach QVs. Mark's has a very conspicuous white interior, where Harry's I'd describe as beige.
Khalid Mahmoud owned Mark's car early on, and it wore his number plate KM8 (here at Portman Lamborghini in London in March 1992).
Then it was 22JS (here at the historic festival at Silverstone in 1998) just before Mark bought it from Graham Schultz I believe. In both pics, the white interior is clearly visible.
Also, here is E482NUL with the wing still on before it was removed.
Re: original number plate: didn't know that: I'd suggest it is E732KYL as there are QVs that are 731, 733 and 734, probably on the car before Mahmoud bought it I'd guess as I don't think he owned it from new.
The black LHD car you refer to is E734KYL, pictured again at Portman Lamborghini.
There were a gang of four who drove their cars together in and around London, Khalid in the red QV, the owner of the black LHD car, the owner of a LHD yellow skirted car and Joe Sackey who at the time owned a red QV too. Didn't know Mahmoud ever owned the black LHD QV. [I'll not make this post even longer by posting all four cars, but if anyone has a photo of them together, that'd be worth seeing!]
Also found a picture of the famous C701BYX, which is the High Performance car mentioned above, Autocar Roadtest car and poster car - here I saw it at LeMans.
Also, here is a picture of the LHD grey car that was offered on ebay about a week ago...yes, the Ferrari next to it does have a massive dent all the way along the side. I wonder if the Countach owner gave it a kicking when he got out of his Lamborghini? Maybe his air con wasn't working and he took it out on the Ferrari.
Here is C701BYX when I had it in early 2009

Interesting front 'bumper'/spoiler arrangement with extra lamps on the grey LHD car above, not seen one like that before.
Anyone know what the story is with that?
The car has US spec rear bumper, so I reckon it is a US car - maybe that is a clue? Did US LP5000S have the extra spotlights or the different front bumper?Anyone know what the story is with that?
Here are some of the pics from ebay:
These recent record breaking prices leave me wondering what my Anniversary might be worth now. I've never really considered selling but I have to admit that the Murci LP640 in the classifieds with Lamborghini Birmingham is a stunner, but then I think that if prices are again on the up I should hang on to my car.
What's the general consensus here, are they heading skywards or is the bubble likely to burst? I realise that being an Anniversary mine is not the most desirable to most, but like any classic the less desirable models go up as the more desirable models become more unobtainable, and mine is an excellent low mileage car in my favoured colour scheme, if I did let it go I would never be able to replace it and fear that I would forever regret it.
