What's the white bit under the (non-Lamborghini) exhaust?

The engine cover is not correct for a U.K. 5000S either.
I think the wheels stick out just a little too much as well.

I'm calling fake!
Here's a photo I grabbed this morning...

The rear badges all look to be slightly too far to the right.
Extra 'vents' on the rear of the side/top air scoops.
That rear wheel just doesn't sit quite right in the arch.

It could be a messed about with original, but I'm still going with (admittedly very good) fakety fakeness!

So it goes from a £250,000 Supercar parked on tower bridge story to............. A moody old Landrover with a pretend Lambo body kit worth a "cupplagrand". Atleast the owner sounds like a nice bloke!

How do you get this info?

(Of course could just be a false plate on the car)

Hmmm...every fake Countach I have ever seen looks like a fake quite obviously, which isn't the case for this one. Normally the windscreen is the giveaway - slightly wrong proportions or angle. I think this is a real Countach - the vents and engine cover and rear are all decent observations, but if this is an imported car from the Middle East, these could have been supplied with the car or added later. I'm betting on a real one. In one of the articles above, it does say the police have no problem with the vehicle's registration even tho it shows up as a Land Rover.

The engine cover may be that of a fuel injection car

The easiest way to tell if is a fake is to look at the gear lever. In a real CT first is back to the left with a 'clip' protecting reverse which is directly ahead of first. Whilst other cars had 'dog leg' gearboxes none other had that exact arrangement.

I thought it looked fake too due to vents in back of the air scoop and lower rear spoiler which would probably melt on a real car. That would be tough to do on a real car. The engine cover is same as a US file Injection model.

I have had quite a few messages asking if it was my car left out on the bridge. I suspect a bit of attention seeking here. Has worked for the guy. Amazed at press saying is a @00k then 300K car! I wish mine was! lol

If it's fake, it will be a strom from Germany. But looks real with bespoke additions like the Japanese car owners do.

That's odd, someone posted earlier that the car was real and he knew the owner, post since deleted? The car was red at one point, it's on this website www.thesupercarworkshop.com

It could be the same car. It appears to have the same vents and engine cover as the white car, although the rear wing on the red car is different to the standard Countach wing

Well spotted ro55a, and believe it or not I left the page open on my iPad and can confirm that the post was made at 19:00 by a user 'eternalife' with 4 posts to his name.

The car is 100% genuine.
I know the owner, and the garage who looks after all his cars is known to me very well.

Scroll down and you will see the car in red before the colour change
http://www.thesupercarworkshop.com/

The plate isn't fake, i believe its in the process of being swapped across.
And I had to smile over the discovery that it was registered to a Land Rover because many years ago I took my Porsche in for an MOT and the MOT station asked me to take a look at the registration details on the computer because according to their database, my number plate was still registered on a horse-box!

Wow, I'm so pleased I live in Newcastle. Car runs out of fuel and your personal details are all over the papers. Can't believe his (ex) mechanic blabbed so much to the press. I guess the adage 'there is no such thing as bad publicity'

I'm sure he won't have minded me snapping his motor whilst it was there. I do like a Countach...

I stand corrected on my claim of a fake then!

It does have some unusual features though.
