So, cheeky weekend in France with the two women in my life. Today, met with Pierre ( Lambo Club France ) and his lovely dark blue 5000s at the old race circuit of Gueux. What a top chap he is.
We are off to Chantilly tomorrow for the Richard Mille Arts and Elegance event. Been dry so far, fingers crossed. Will see Pierre again and take a look at the Lambo display.

The catch on the engine cover became detached on my car and then sent a screw through a rear tyre! My usual luck of misfortune turning to catastrophe!
Could someone send me a photo of the engine D loop that fits under the engine cover with some dimensions? Length/ width and thickness? I will need to source something like it to keep the engine cover down other that tying it down with string!
Anyone ever had to source a replacement and any ideas?
thanks in advance.

my car around bruntingthorpe on Asdas "on your marks charity event, she was a little unwell that day but still went north of 150 on the straight, even without having the full length of the runway.

What was the white car that was in front of the black Countach?
Hi LDM, the circuit is good fun. I followed Pierre and his lovely blue 5000s around the circuit. Not many bends, should think it was a fast lap in its day.
There were a few people taking pictures, one of which posted up some stunning shots here:

You can really see the beautiful blue on the 5000s. Loving this colour.

My apologies, from the video footage it looked black, but from viewing the pics on the link you provided I see it is navy blue, the last time I saw this dark shade of blue was on the Walter Wolf Countach in the 1980s, and I'm damn sure he was the guy responsible for the adoption of the wider 345mm P7 tyres on the Countach. There were a few people taking pictures, one of which posted up some stunning shots here:

As for your red Countach, is like a stunning Italian actress... drop dead gorgeous
Rob,
Thanks for the extra pics both cars look stunning, I know what you mean about the blue, although I am yet to see a colour these cars don't look good in! I'm sure they must have attracted quite a bit of attention.
From what I know the circuit was basically a large triangle so would provide for a fast race. I believe the '53 GP was referred to as "the race of the century" with a sixty lap battle between Mike Hawthorn and Juan Manuel Fangio. Hawthorn won after they supposedly swapped the lead at virtually every corner on the circuit. On top of that, after 500 km of racing the top four cars were less than 5 seconds apart!
