Yes. This is the car. The current owner has looked after her well. He brought her along to the Countach lunch last year. Was nice to see her again.

Barry Martina??)

Does anyone know if Barry Martina is about still?

I first met him when he traded from Supercars of Dulwich in 1979.
He was a great Lamborghini enthusiast and I believe a personal friend of Ferruccio Lamborghini.
I recall his stories of driving new cars back from the factory over the Simplon Pass for the UK importer.

The one at Race Retro went for £213750 (not including buyers premium). I think someone got a good deal.

Great guy, I met him in the late 80's - the original LamboMan!

Thanks it was Barry,he was short and had longish hair. I had a choice of two Countachs one red with cream hide, and a silver one with blue hide. Barry told me Rod Stewart was gonna buy the one I didn't pick I chose the red one (now in Haynes museum with my plate 742 TR) and a week later there was a picture of Rod and car in Ad Lib ( gossip column) I also bought a Silver Ferrari 308 Gtb Koenig twin turbo conversion registration was T 300. It put the Lamborghini in the shade speed wise it felt like it was gonna flip over on fast pull away.
Do you recall " Stan the Man" he fixed my cars on the cheap I believe he took a customers countach to Brands Hatch and on the way home crashed fatally ( Rip Stan)
Once again thanks for the memorie!

Worse time of year. As the QV is in for service and MOT with the top man that is Mike Pullen. She has a leaky water pump, which is pretty common. Especially considering she will be 30 years old next year. Mike will cure and replace all hoses as precaution. Apart from that, the old girl seems to need less doing to her than my 355. She starts well, drives great. All down to being used I suspect.

Looking forward to getting her back, ready for the summer season.

Oops, well nothing surprises me nowadays, why did the BBC pay Savile so much money, and why the heck did Mars give him a Countach for promoting the London marathon?

The B502 WYE reg number rings a bell, and I do remember seeing a plate on a red Countach at a Goodwood super-car test day back in the 1980s, though assume that more than one red Countach was registered with a similar numberplate from that year.

Anyone who has had a Countach and sold it....regrets it...because there is nothing quite like it to own and drive.

Savilles Countach was and may still be Red with Red Leather.

Re: the Saville car, its a Countach, I'll be happy to own it. The previous owner connection would not bother me, providing the car had been well looked after. Although red on red would not be my ideal colour combo.

On a different note. My QV came home last evening. Mike Pullen has done a beautiful job on the water pump rebuild, new hoses and powder coated water pipes. Nice to check under the car this morning and find its dry.

So, early next month, will get it taxed and get some use out of the old girl. She needs a good run to blow away the cobwebs.

B502 WYE is (was?) red with what I think is black interior. Wasn't red.

Here are a couple of pics I took of it from one of those Castle Combe Carrera Sport days.

Know of a couple of red/red RHD 5000S cars - one is now blue/red, the other at the time I think had the reg C169CYC or similar. Can check my photos later.

Cheers
