Does BR 33 still hold any records?

I think those records were broke a long time ago.

Keep an eye out for the May 2016 edition of 'Classic Cars' magazine because there is a pretty decent article on the restoration of a red Lamborghini Countach which had been seriously damaged by fire.

BR33 at Goodwood in about 82-84...there is my student self looking yet again to grab a ride in a Countach....which I did often.

Is that the bullion dealer owned car from Leeds?

I seem to remember reading an article many years ago that the Countach with BR33 was owned by Barry Robinson who owned a demolition company. Will have to dig out the relevant magazine from the loft.

Have a look on the Terry Keys website.....I'd guess the car that was fire damaged is the one on his website....

Btw B502WYE was always red with black. It never had a red interior. There was another well-known 5000s in red/red, which has now been resprayed blue and looks fabulous! A663SUV formerly CYC31C.

Barry and his brother Tom (IIRC) owned the company. Whenever I saw Tom he was always sporting a Stetson. BR33 was on several Countaches and the 5000S in the pic below was jointly owned by Barry and Alex Posdan. Alex took me out for a blast in the car after we finished working for him and John Quatermaine in the pits at a Special Saloons event at Brands in circa 1985. Happy days indeed.

That'll be this one then:

Am I radical, am I a pacifist? by Dan Pluck, on Flickr

Shot this last summer. At that time the owner was still renovating the car, although he had already completed a lot of the work. The tahiti blue paint job is gorgeous.

I ought to mention that this May edition is in the shops now, which is a bit odd considering we're still in March!

Just spoken to Mr.Elms. When he sold A663SUV a few years ago, it had some paperwork relating to Jimmy Saville.

Sounds like we are both correct and he had two Countachs

Like a lot of owners, I have been trying to track history and detail for my particular example. Probably more so than most as I brought my car at auction and not a lot of paperwork came with the car.

I've been fortunate in that I got ahold of quite a lot of detail and even the original warranty book. My car spent all its life in Holland prior to myself purchasing and importing into the UK. The Lamborghini Club Netherland have been a great help and through them, a lot of info has come my way. Cheers to them!

Also, the Internet and forums such as this one are a great resource and I'm thankful to those who contribute and share their knowledge, which way outshines mine.

Whilst searching and surfing, I came across some old pictures of my car at a 1988 Ferrari event in Holland (previously posted on this site) I got in contact with the blog owner, We'll call him George, as that is his name :-) and we've been talking. George has been a keen motoring blogger / follower since the mid 80's. I asked him if he had more pictures and he advised that he may have some video footage. But will need to take a look through the archives to see what there is. I was somewhat excited about this prospect. Anyway, its been a while, but George has come up with the goods and produced, at a very modest fee, considering he spent 6 hours doing the production, some video footage. This comprises two events, the aforementioned Ferrari meeting held in 1988 and another meeting at a racetrack in 1989. Both of which, the car is with its first owner, Mr. Francois Koopal.

So, I'm rather pleased. This is great for the car's history records and gives me an indication of aspects such as an alarm system being fitted by the first owner. I don't think there will be many owners who have such early original footage of their car. I'm very fortunate in this respect.

Anyway, its on Youtube, link below. Hope you find it of interest as its a bit of a time capsule. Check out the fashion etc.
